Independent power producer JSW Energy has commissioned 85 MW of renewable energy capacity. The added capacity comprises 74 MW of solar and 11 MW of wind projects, bringing the company’s total installed capacity to 13,295 MW.

JSW said the newly installed solar capacity includes part of the NHPC Hybrid project.

The company’s share of renewables in its overall capacity stands at 57%. This share comprises 3,720 MW of wind, 2,286 MW of solar, and 1,631 MW of hydro capacity.

JSW stated that its portfolio includes a total locked-in generation capacity of 30.5 GW, comprising 13.3 GW of operational capacity, 12.5 GW of under-construction capacity across thermal and renewable sources, 150 MW of under-acquisition hydro capacity, and a pipeline of 4.6 GW of renewable energy projects.

The company has 29.4 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through pumped hydro storage projects of 26.4 GWh and a battery energy storage system of 3.0 GWh. It targets 30 GW of generation and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by FY 2030, with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

JSW Energy is also establishing a 5 GWh battery assembly facility in Pune. According to its stock exchange filing, all equipment has been received at the site, and installation and trial runs are underway. The line setup and commissioning are expected to be completed in the third quarter (Q3) of the financial year 2026.

JSW commissioned 114 MW of renewable energy capacity in September 2025, comprising 21 MW of solar and 93 MW of wind capacity. JSW Energy reported a revenue of ₹53.61 billion (~$609.91 million) in the second quarter of the financial year 2026, an increase of 55% year-over-year from ₹34.59 billion (~$393.52 million). The rise in revenue was due to renewable energy capacity expansions and contributions from O2 Power and the Mahanadi plant.

Earlier this year, JSW raised ₹12 billion (~$137.70 million) through private placement of non-convertible debentures.
