ITI, a public sector undertaking under the Department of Telecommunications, has invited bids to set up an automatic 500 MW/250 MW/100 MW solar module manufacturing line on a turnkey basis at Naini, Prayagraj, in Uttar Pradesh.

The last date to submit bids is April 4, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹10 million (~$107,921).

Successful bidders must submit performance security of up to 5% of the order value for the first year and three months, or until the line is commissioned.

Once the line is commissioned, the successful bidders must submit performance security of up to 10% of the order value for the warranty period.

Bidders must submit a tender document cost of ₹20,000 (~$215.8).

The scope of work covers the installation, commissioning, and process optimization of the 500 MW/250 MW (upgradable up to 500 MW)/100 MW (upgradable up to 250 MW) solar module manufacturing line.

It also entails a buyback provision for the existing 18 MW solar module line and a 2-year warranty for the new module line.

The project’s scope of work also entails the layout, design, and the operation and maintenance of the manufacturing line.

The successful bidders must provide three sets of toolboxes along with the manufacturing line and deploy one official on a 24-hour basis for one year to handle maintenance and repairs.

The plant must manufacture 700 Wp modules with a maximum size of 2500 mm X 1400 mm, using solar cells of at least 210 mm X 210 mm (up to 22 bus bars).

Successful bidders must conduct a trial run of the module line and successfully manufacture at least 210 kW for the 500 MW solar modules manufacturing line/ and/or 175 kW for the 250 MW line, and/or 105 kW for the 100 MW line.

They must also submit a 680 Wp golden module along with test lab certificates.

Successful bidders must ensure solar cell breakage is less than 0.2%.

Bidders must have supplied, installed, and commissioned solar manufacturing lines in the last seven years as follows:

• Three module manufacturing lines of at least 100 MW
• Two module manufacturing lines of at least 125 MW
• One module manufacturing line of at least 200 MW

The solar module line must be commissioned within 10 months.

Bidders must have a positive net worth for the last financial year and a minimum annual turnover of ₹200 million (~$2.16 million) in the last three financial years.

Last year, ITI issued a tender to establish a 500 MW fully automatic solar photovoltaic module manufacturing line on a turnkey basis at ITI Limited in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

In the same year, it also invited expressions of interest for engineering, procurement, and construction of a 5 MW grid-connected solar project in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district.
