ITI Limited, a public sector undertaking under the Department of Telecommunications, has floated a tender for the sale of 720,000 five-busbar cut multicrystalline solar cells.

The last date to submit bids is June 26, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders are not required to submit any earnest money deposit to participate in the tender.

The successful bidder, however, must furnish an amount equivalent to 10% of the bid value as a security deposit immediately upon confirmation by ITI.

The cells will be supplied in lots of 250,000 per month starting August 1, 2023. The buyer can inspect the material before accepting the material. ITI cell tester tool will be provided on request for sample testing of solar cells.

The dimensions of the solar cells must be 40 mm x 157 ± 0.25 mm with a thickness of 200 μm ± 20 μm. They must also have a silicon nitride anti-reflective coating and a busbar difference of 31.2 mm ± 0.1 mm.

The cells must have 18.8% efficiency in standard test conditions and a fill factor of 80%, be it either light blue, blue, dark blue, or indigo. The cell power under standard testing conditions should be a minimum of 1.17 Wp.

The cells must be free from breakage, cracks, chipped edges, micro-cracks, pinholes, discontinuity of metal printing lines, spots, spillages or smears, color variations, and non-uniform printing lines.

Bidders offering the highest quote rates will be declared as H1 bidders. If the H1 bidder does not purchase the material for any reason, ITI reserves the right to decide the sale to other bidders without any claim by the H1 bidder.

Last month, the company floated a tender to supply 553,500 polycrystalline solar cells. The total tender value was ₹36.5 million (~$440,754).

Earlier, ITI had floated a tender to supply 23,50,080 polycrystalline solar cells. The total tender value was ₹110.10 million (~$1.43 million).
