As India expands its solar manufacturing and deployment capabilities, attention is increasingly shifting toward establishing a fully self-reliant domestic supply chain encompassing bill of materials (BoM) and balance-of-system (BoS) components.
From backsheets, glass, junction boxes, frames, encapsulants, and wafers to inverters, mounting structures, cables, transformers, and switchgear, the manufacturing of these components offers strong opportunities for localization, value creation, and industrial growth.
Conversations around BoM and BoS manufacturing have taken center stage in India’s renewable energy industry, especially after the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy proposed an Approved List of Models and Manufacturers for wafers and ingots last year.
At Mercom India’s Renewable Energy Summit, scheduled for July 1-2, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency in New Delhi, industry stakeholders will discuss the opportunities and challenges of solar BoM and BoS manufacturing at an exclusive panel discussion, “Solar BoM & BoS Manufacturing: Expanding Value Creation Across the Solar Supply Chain,” on July 2.
The session will shed light on the progress and challenges in domestic manufacturing, investment trends, technological competitiveness, supply chain resilience, and policy support.
The panel will feature Bhupendra Singh Rawat, CEO at Dhash Green Energy; Ruchi Kukreja, Head of Business Development and Advocacy at Hindalco Industries; and Varun Gupta, Director at Triveni Renewables.
The panelists will discuss how strengthening the BoM and BoS segments can reduce import dependence, improve project economics, and position India as a globally competitive solar manufacturing hub.
The 2026 Summit will also feature The Mercom India Awards, which will honor outstanding achievements and technological innovations that are transforming India’s energy markets, while the Mercom India Renewable Summit Expo will bring together renewable energy companies showcasing cutting-edge solutions and services, providing participants with opportunities to connect with industry leaders, explore new business opportunities, and enhance brand visibility.
Register now to attend the event and contribute to shaping the future of India’s renewable energy landscape.
