Indianoil Petronas Floats Maintenance Tender for 3.4 MW Solar Project

Indianoil Petronas, a joint venture between the Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) and Malaysia-based Petronas, has issued a tender for a non-comprehensive annual maintenance contract (AMC) for a 3.4 MW solar project at Athipattu village in Tamil Nadu for five years.

Bids must be submitted by August 27, 2025. Bids will be opened on August 28.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹18,000 (~$205.51).

The scope of work includes scheduled and preventive maintenance, major overhauling of the project equipment, and maintaining log sheets/operational details records to ensure trouble-free operations and the system’s healthy condition at the designed efficiency/performance level for the entire operation and maintenance (O&M) period.

The solar project must have an operational availability of over 98%.

Successful bidders must replenish used spare parts from reputable brands. They must also ensure proper training of maintenance personnel with personal protective equipment, the availability of all the tools, and a review of available spare parts, measuring instruments, and tool kits.

Selected bidders must depute one trained or certified personnel in charge and three helpers to assist in the module cleaning project upkeep. They must also conduct O&M for the project’s evacuation system up to the point of interconnection with the existing 6.6 kV high-tension panel.

Bidders must have completed the following similar works:

  • Three similar works, each worth at least ₹540,932 (~$6,175.81) including GST
  • Two similar works, each worth at least ₹720,000 (~$8,220.22) including GST
  • One similar work worth at least ₹900,000 (~$10,275.27) including GST

Similar work refers to completing an AMC of a 3 MW solar project in the last five years, up to the month before the bid invitation month.

Bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of ₹1.1 million (~$12,558.67).

In May this year, IOCL invited bids for the O&M of a 5 MW solar power project for three months at IOCL Rawra, Rajasthan.
