Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL) has invited bids for a balance of system (BoS) package for a 500 MW solar power project at Great Rann of Kutch, Khavda, Gujarat.

The last date for the submission of bids is June 13, 2024.

GIPCL has been allotted land for a renewable energy park with a capacity of 2,375 MW in Khavda. A solar project with a 600 MW capacity is under development at the park.

The scope of the work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, insurance, unloading, construction, civil works, installation, testing, and commissioning of the project on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis.

The scope covers a comprehensive operations and maintenance contract for three years.

GIPCL will provide solar modules to the successful bidder.

Bidders must submit a non-refundable tender fee of ₹29,500 (~$353.52) and an earnest money deposit of ₹50 million (~$599,235).

The project’s scheduled commission date is 16 months from the letter of award issue date. The tentative date for completion of the operational acceptance test is 30 days from the date of commissioning.

The successful bidder must furnish a performance bank guarantee of 5% of the EPC contract price.

Bidders must have experience in designing, supplying, erecting/supervising erection, and commissioning/supervising commissioning of BoS of solar projects with a cumulative installed capacity of 100 MW or higher.

Among these, at least one project should have a capacity of 40 MW or higher.

This reference project of 40 MW or higher capacity should have been completed within the last seven years from the bid submission date. It must have been operational for at least six months before the bid submission date.

The bidders’ minimum average annual turnover for the last three financial years should be a minimum of ₹3 billion (~$35.9 million).

GIPCL also invited bids for an EPC package with land for up to 500 MW of solar power projects anywhere in Gujarat.

In September, GIPCL invited bids to supply 750 MW of bifacial solar modules with a minimum wattage output of 540 Wp for a 600 MW solar power project at the Khavda renewable energy park.
