Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Invites Bids to Develop 150 MW of Solar Projects at Charanka Solar Park

The Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL), a power generation company, has tendered 150 MW (3×50 MW) solar projects to be developed in Gujarat Solar Park, Charanka village, Patan district. The bid submission deadline for the projects is May 31, 2017. The estimated project completion time is 240 days from the date of signing the Letter of Intent (LoI).

The scope of work includes design, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the project, commissioning and evacuation of power into the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation’s (GETCO’s) 66 kV substation. It also involves comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of the project for 10 years. Land has been allocated for these projects with plot areas of 188 acres (Plot-A), 232 acres (Plot-B) and 221.6 acres (Plot-C).

According to Mercom’s Q1 India Quarterly Update, Gujarat currently has 1,142 MW of solar projects in operations and 260 MW of solar projects under development.

According to Mercom’s data, the solar park fee in India varies from ₹3.73 million (~$58,039)/MW in Karnataka to ₹10.58 million (~$164,335)/MW in Gujarat.
