January 7, 2025
Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company (DGVCL) has awarded contracts for developing 64 solar projects with a combined capacity of 160 MW under Component C of the PM KUSUM program for feeder-level solarization.
These projects will operate under the renewable energy service company model to generate cost-effective and sustainable energy.
The initiative was intended to cover 514 agricultural feeders at 11 kV and 161,727 grid-connected agricultural consumers.
KPI Green Energy secured projects with 51 MW capacity across 15 locations with tariffs ranging from ₹2.28 (~$0.0266)/kWh to ₹3 (~$0.0350)/kWh.
Shree Ganesh Corporation secured projects with a capacity of 45.5 MW across 10 locations at a uniform tariff of ₹3 ($0.0350)/kWh.
Sartha Infrastructure and Harisinh Chauhan secured capacities of 15.5 MW and 15 MW, respectively, with tariffs ranging from ₹2.85 (~$0.0333)/kWh to ₹2.98 (~$0.0348)/kWh.
Developers, including Arvindbhai Manjibhai Mangukiya, Delta Suninfra Energies, and Trust Infra Sales & Services, each secured projects of 2.5 MW capacity with tariffs ranging between ₹2.98 (~$0.0348)/kWh and ₹3 ($0.0350)/kWh.
Green Energy Alliance secured capacities of 3 MW at a ₹2.25 ($0.0263)/kWh tariff.
Other companies collectively secured the remaining 18.5 MW capacity, all with tariffs ranging between ₹2.97 (~$0.0347)/kWh and ₹3 (0.0350)/kWh.
The remaining capacity was distributed among other developers, including Green Environ Construction and Rameshbhai Manjibhai Mangukiya, with 2 MW each with tariffs ranging from ₹2.98 (~$0.0348)/kWh to ₹3.00 ($0.0350)/kWh.
Component C of the PM KUSUM program is aimed at solarizing existing grid-connected agriculture pumps. Farmers with grid-connected pumps can double their pump capacity by installing solar systems. Grid-connected pumps used by water users associations, farmer producer organizations, agricultural credit societies and cluster irrigation systems for solarization of pumps are covered under the program.
Recently, the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission approved tariffs for 101 solar power projects of Paschim Gujarat Vij Company with a total capacity of 259 MW under Component C of the PM KUSUM program. The tariffs adopted range from ₹2.35 (~$0.028)/kWh to ₹3(~$0.036)/kWh.
