Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha (GEDCO) has invited bids to conduct topographic and contour surveys and soil and water quality tests for a 55-60 MW solar power project in Boudh.

Bidders must also supply and erect benchmark posts and boundary pillars in the proposed sites.

The work must be completed within four months of receiving the work order.

The last day to submit the bids is November 22, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The scope of work involves conducting a topography and contour survey, including benchmarking from the nearest great trigonometrical survey benchmark, demarcating the proposed park boundary using total station equipment or differential global positioning system, and preparing a contour plan with spot levels.

The consultant must also undertake standard penetration tests, collect undisturbed and disturbed soil samples, determine groundwater tables, and conduct various tests such as moisture content, bulk, dry density, specific gravity, and particle size distribution.

Constructing precast concrete boundary pillars at peripheral boundary locations and benchmark posts at different locations is part of the scope.

The bidding documents cost ₹7,080 (~$84.96). Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit equivalent to 1% of the quoted price.

Selected bidders must submit a bank guarantee equivalent to 10% of the contract value while accepting the letter of award.

In case of delay, liquidated damages at 1% of the agreed-upon price will be charged for each week of delay or part of a week, subject to a maximum of 10% of the contract value. This amount will be recovered from the payables to the consultant for delay and failure in fulfilling the contract obligation attributable to it.

In August, Odisha Mining Corporation invited bids for installing and commissioning 2 MW grid-connected ground-mounted or rooftop solar power projects at different coal mines.

In December last year, the Odisha government released its renewable energy policy to provide the necessary impetus to the solar sector and accelerate its adoption in the state.
