EPC Growth Propels Sterling and Wilson to Fourth Straight Profitable Quarter

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) arm of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, posted a net profit of ₹171.4 million (~$1.97 million) in the third quarter of the financial year (FY) 2025, swinging from a net loss of ₹623.9 million (~$7.21 million) in the same quarter last year.

The third quarter profit marks the fourth consecutive quarter of profit for the company.

The company reported a revenue of ₹18.37 billion (~$212.17 million) in the quarter, a 215% YoY increase from ₹5.83 billion (~$67.34 million).

Revenue growth was primarily driven by higher execution in the domestic EPC segment, contributing ₹14.31 billion (~$165.29 million) to the total revenue. International EPC operations generated ₹3.45 billion (~$39.84 million), while the operations and maintenance segment added ₹610 million (~$7.04 million) to the top line.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for the quarter was ₹730 million (~$8.43 million), a 630% YoY rise from ₹100 million (~$1.15 million).

The company reported earnings per share (EPS) of ₹0.63 (~$0.0073) compared to a loss of ₹3.31 (~$0.038) in the corresponding period last year.

The company has an unexecuted order value at ₹101.67 billion (~$1.17 billion) as of December 2024 compared to ₹80.84 billion (~$933.73 million) as of March 2024. The company has received new orders in two domestic projects worth ₹14.65 billion (~$169.21 million) this quarter.

Sterling and Wilson posted a net profit of ₹305.4 million (~$3.52 million) in the first nine months (9M) of FY 2025, swinging from a net loss of ₹2.12 billion (~$24.48 million) in the same period last year.

The company reported revenue of ₹37.83 billion (~$436.95 million) in 9M FY25, a 104% YoY increase from ₹18.57 billion (~$214.49 million).

Sterling and Wilson’s net profit in Q1 FY25 swung from a net loss of ₹540 million (~$6.42 million) to a net profit of ₹90 million (~$1.07 million).

The company posted a net profit of ₹50 million (~$600,000) in Q1 FY25  against a net loss of ₹950 million (~$11.4 million) in the same quarter last year.
