Eastern Railway Invites Bids for 2.2 MW Rooftop Solar Systems

The Howrah Division of Eastern Railway has invited bids for the design and supply of a 2.2 MW on-grid rooftop solar project, without battery backup.
The last date for the submission of bids is March 6, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.
Bidders will have to furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹ 653,000 (~$7,895).
The project has to be completed within 6 months of receiving the work order.
The equipment used in the project should be in accordance with the “Make in India” policy.
Bidders must have completed three similar works costing not less than the amount equal to 30% of the value of the tender, two similar works costing not less than 40% of the tender value, or at least one similar work costing not less than 60% of the tender value, during the last seven years.
Similar work refers to the design, supply, installation, connection, testing, and commissioning of rooftop/shed top/ water surface/vacant land based on-grid/off-grid/hybrid solar system with associated work.
Bidders must have a minimum average annual turnover of V/N or V whichever is less where V is the advertised value of the tender and N is the number of years prescribed for the completion of work.
The average annual turnover will be calculated as an average of total contractual payments in the previous three financial years.
The South Eastern Railway has issued a tender for the empanelment of developers to implement grid-connected rooftop solar projects of various capacities in West Bengal through the public-private partnership mode.
In November last year, the Western Railway announced it had saved ₹30 million (~$362,902) on energy bills during the financial year 2021-22 by installing 6.6 MW of solar power projects across 97 railway stations and 3.92 MW of solar power projects at 46 railway office buildings.
