East Central Railway Tenders 1.1 MW Rooftop Solar Systems Under Sonpur Division

East Central Railway has invited bids to install 1.114 MW of rooftop solar systems at Amrit Bharat station (533 kW) and at various locations (581 kW) under Sonpur Division in Bihar.
The scope of work includes the design, manufacture, and supply of grid-connected solar systems without battery backup. The systems should comprise single/polycrystalline silicon solar cells connected in series, string Inverters, and a data logger, with provision for data to be sent to a remote service platform for analysis.
The last date to submit bids is May 14, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.
Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹883,700 (~$9,347)
The project must be completed within 180 days.
The estimated cost of the project is ₹44.19 million (~$467,393).
Bidders must have completed three similar works, each costing not less than 30% of the tender value, or two similar works, each costing not less than 40% of the tender value, or one similar work costing not less than 60% of the tender value.
They should have experience in the supply and installation of solar projects of any nature or the supply and installation of rooftop solar systems of any capacity.
Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of ‘V/N’ or ‘V’, whichever is less; where V = Advertised value of the tender in crores of rupees, N = Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited. The average annual contractual turnover should be calculated as an average of ‘total contractual payments’ in the previous three financial years.
They should possess a valid electrical contractor’s license and supervisory license issued by any state or central government licensing board for the required voltage level or above.
Only indigenous modules should be used in the project. The wattage of each module should be at least 500 Wp. The module efficiency should be at least 15%, and the cell efficiency should be greater than 16%.
Recently, the Ministry of Railways issued a tender to set up 1,445 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects at railway stations in the Guntakal Division of South-Central Railway in Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier, the Nagpur division of Central Railway invited bids to set up a 1.3 MW rooftop solar project on buildings and residential quarters at the Wardha and Ajni stations in Maharashtra.
