Shakti Pumps secures ₹2.93 billion work order under PM-KUSUM

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) paid solar and wind power producers ₹12.15 billion (~$146.4 million) for the energy purchased in August 2023. The payment reflected an increase of 6% from the July disbursements. The disbursements increased by 49% on a year-over-year basis. In August, disbursements to solar and wind developers constituted 94.1% of the total payments made by the nodal agency. SECI made payments of ₹582.30 million (~$7 million) to contractors and service providers.
Shakti Pumps received a letter of award from the Uttar Pradesh Department of Agriculture to supply, install, and commission 10,000 solar pumps under Component B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program. The total value of the work order amounts to ₹2.93 billion (~$35.3 million). The order must be executed within 90 days from the issuance of the work order.
Solar Energy Corporation of India has invited bids from developers for the supply of 1,260 MW of power from interstate transmission system-connected renewable power projects, including energy storage systems across India. The last date to submit the bids is November 10, 2023. Bids will be opened on November 15. Out of the total tendered capacity, 1,250 MW procured by SECI will be sold to BSES Rajdhani Power and BSES Yamuna Power, Delhi, and the remaining 10 MW will be sold to GIFT Power Company, Gujarat.
