Solar photovoltaic projects comprised 21.2% of India’s total installed power capacity and 46.8% of the total installed renewable capacity at the end of December 2024. India’s installed solar capacity rose 10.5% quarter-over-quarter and 57.2% year-over-year.
Kerala emerged as a leader in residential rooftop solar installations, with the PM Surya Ghar program being a major catalyst. Kerala has achieved a 60.13% application-to-installation conversion rate, reflecting high implementation efficiency. This ratio highlights the active participation of distribution companies and empaneled vendors.

Bridge and Roof Company, a government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, won SJVN Green Energy’s engineering, procurement and construction auction to set up a 100 MW solar power project in the Didwana-Kuchaman district of Rajasthan.
Wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy recorded a revenue of ₹29.69 billion (~$343 million) during the third quarter of the financial year 2025, an increase of 91% year-over-year from ₹15.53 billion (~$179.39 million). This growth was primarily driven by a 132% YoY rise in revenue from the sale of wind turbine generators.
Independent power producer JSW Energy reported a net profit of ₹1.68 billion (~$19.42 million) in the third quarter of the financial year 2025, a decrease of 27% YoY from ₹2.31 billion (~$26.70 million) due to lower revenues from thermal and hydropower projects.
