The Grid Controller of India has released an updated procedure to implement the Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge and Related Matters) Rules 2022 and subsequent amendments. The procedure applies to intra-state and inter-state generators, licensees, and distribution entities, focusing on payment security, power scheduling, and addressing non-payment scenarios. The new procedure will take effect from January 1, 2025.
The Odisha government has approved proposals by five companies to set up solar cell and module manufacturing facilities and a pumped hydro storage project with a total investment of ₹126.51 billion (~$1.49 billion). These project proposals were approved at the second high-level clearance authority meeting, which cleared ₹1.37 trillion (~$16.21 billion) worth of projects across various sectors, including renewable energy.
Punjab Genco, a Punjab Energy Development Agency undertaking, has invited bids to design, manufacture, supply, erect, and test two solar power projects of 4 MW each in Bathinda District. The scope of work also includes operations and maintenance for five years. The last date to submit the bids is December 18, 2024. Bids will be opened on December 19.
The Australian Energy Market Operator Services has launched registrations for the Capacity Investment Scheme Tender 4 to facilitate the development of 6 GW of renewable energy projects within Australia’s National Electricity Market. The initiative is part of the Australian Government’s efforts to ensure a reliable and sustainable energy supply for households and businesses nationwide. The registration period for interested proponents runs from November 29, 2024, to February 11, 2025. Stage A of the bidding process is scheduled to commence on December 13, 2024, with project submissions due by February 18, 2025.
