Ayana Renewable Power, Jindal Green (Jindal Renewables), Bhalki Solar Power, Purvah Green Power, ReNew Solar Power, and ACME Solar Holdings won the Railway Energy Management Company’s (REMCL) auction to supply 1,000 MW round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy. Ayana Renewable Power won 140 MW. Jindal Green was awarded 150 MW. Bhalki Solar Power won 200 MW, while Purvah Green won 180 MW, and ReNew Solar won 200 MW. All winners quoted a tariff of ₹4.35 (~$0.049)/kWh. ACME won 130 MW out of the quoted capacity of 1,000 MW under the bucket filling method, also with a tariff of ₹4.35 (~$0.049)/kWh.

Six companies won Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s (RVUNL) auction to set up a 500 MW/2,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) under the build-own-operate model in the state. The tender was issued in August 2025. Patanjali Ayurved won a capacity of 250 MW/1,000 MWh. Ultravibrant Solar Energy, Rama Reflection India, Mecpower Solutions, Bhagwati Lacto Vegetarian Exports, and Diwakar Renewable & Infra (Diwakar Solar) each won a capacity of 50 MW/200 MWh. All companies quoted a tariff of ₹285,000 (~$3,193.05)/MW/month.

The Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission approved Bihar State Power Holding Company’s proposal to procure 200 MW of solar power with a 100 MW/400 MWh energy storage system through the interstate transmission system Tranche-XV program of the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). SECI offered a tariff of ₹3.42 (~$0.038)/kWh. The Commission approved the power sale agreement at the tariff adopted by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), along with a trading margin of ₹0.07 (~$0.00079)/kWh payable to SECI. The project is eligible for transmission charge waivers under the applicable CERC Sharing Regulations.

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam floated a tender to procure power from 625 MW of solar projects without energy storage, anywhere in India, along with a greenshoe option of up to 625 MW (Phase XXVIII). Bids must be submitted by December 15, 2025. Bids will be opened on December 18. Projects that are under construction, not yet commissioned, or already commissioned but without a long-term power purchase agreement and are selling power on a short-term or merchant basis can be considered. This is allowed only if they are not already accepted under any other central or state program and have no obligations toward existing buyers.

Agra Nagar Nigam issued an engineering, procurement, and construction request for proposal to set up a 7.5 MW solar project across four sites in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The projects will be set up at the following locations: Kanha Gaushala, Tedhi Bagiya, with a capacity of 2 MW Jal Kal 1st, Jeoni Mandi, with a capacity of 750 kW Jal Kal 2nd, Sikandra, with a capacity of 750 kW Municipal Solid Waste plant, Chalesar, with a capacity of 4 MW Bids must be submitted by December 8, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day. The scope of work entails the design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar project. It also includes operation and maintenance services for five years.

U.S.-based solar module manufacturer First Solar inaugurated a new module manufacturing facility in Iberia Parish, Louisiana. The vertically integrated facility is expected to add 3.5 GW of annual nameplate capacity once fully ramped. The facility will increase First Solar America’s manufacturing portfolio to 14 GW in 2026. This portfolio is expected to increase to 17.7 GW in 2027, after a recently announced South Carolina facility reaches full capacity. The South Carolina facility will be in Gaffney, with an investment of approximately $330 million. The company aims to utilize this facility to onshore the final production process for its Series 6 Plus modules. First Solar said the Iberia Parish facility began production ahead of schedule in July 2025.
