Maharashtra invites bids for 1 MW of rooftop solar systems with net metering

NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has invited bids for the supply of 1.58 GW of crystalline solar bifacial modules with a minimum wattage output of 540 Wp for 1,255 MW projects at the Khavda Solar Park in the Kutch district of Gujarat. The modules will be supplied under the domestic content requirement (DCR) category. The last date to submit the bids is October 11, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.
Maharashtra Energy Development Agency has invited bids for installing and commissioning 1.062 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems on buildings located within the premises of the Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur. The projects will be developed under the net metering arrangement. The successful bidder will also have to take care of the project’s operation and maintenance for five from the date of the commissioning of the project.
Global wind turbine orders recorded a 12% year-over-year increase in the first half of 2023 with 69.5 GW of order activity, according to the global research and consultancy group Wood Mackenzie. The analysis by the group revealed the increased offshore order activity and the orders from outside of China driving the increase, up 47% year-over-year (YoY) increase to over 25 GW. Wind turbine orders in North America alone reached 7.7 GW, a 305% YoY jump from 1.9 GW. Of these, two offshore wind turbine orders in the region accounted for 49% of the total capacity.
Norway-based renewable energy company Statkraft has acquired a substantial wind power portfolio from Breeze Two Energy, consisting of 39 operational wind farms, for the purchase price of NOK4.7 billion (~$443.2 million). The company said this marks a substantial addition to Statkraft’s European onshore wind power portfolio. The strategic acquisition, encompassing 337 MW of capacity, focuses on wind farms located in Germany and France.
Utility-scale solar and battery storage projects developer Emeren Group recorded a net income of $8.3 million during the second quarter of 2023, marking the highest level seen in the past five years and accounting for a massive YoY improvement from a loss of $204,000. The surge in net income was attributed to solar and battery storage project execution in Europe. The company recorded a revenue of $33.85 million, a YoY increase of 312.3%, which was driven by strong contributions across all its business lines.
Bila Solar, a solar manufacturer based in the United States, has unveiled plans to establish a module manufacturing facility to produce 1 GW of advanced glassless, frameless solar modules annually. The production is expected to commence in the summer of 2024. The company will invest over $35 million in the renovation of a 150,000-square-foot facility located in White River Parkway East Drive, Indianapolis.
