Maharashtra’s recent rooftop solar policy revisions have fundamentally altered project economics, making the viability of solar-plus-storage systems increasingly dependent on their ability to offset peak-hour tariffs rather than monetize surplus solar generation.
Rajasthan’s Energy Department directed the state’s distribution companies to process all PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bili Yojana applications under the ‘Give it up’ category in accordance with the exemptions announced by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission clarified that connectivity granted under the intrastate transmission system is project-specific and cannot be treated as a freely transferable right. While the provisions of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission’s Connectivity and General Network Access Regulations, 2022, are not directly applicable to intrastate connectivity, the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh may use them as guidance where state regulations do not provide specific provisions.
The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission proposed reducing levelized generic tariffs for distributed and ground-mounted solar projects serving domestic and non-domestic consumers. It proposed a levelized tariff of ₹2.65 (~$0.028)/kWh for megawatt-scale ground-mounted solar projects, a 13.7% decline from ₹3.07 (~$0.03)/kWh.
Tripura State Electricity Corporation (TSECL) invited bids to install 47.5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems for residential consumers under the PM Surya Ghar, in the Dhalai, Dharmanagar, and Unakoti Electrical Circles. Bids must be submitted by July 14, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency invited bids under two tenders to select engineering, procurement, and construction contractors for grid-connected rooftop and small solar power projects at government buildings across the state. The last date to submit bids for both tenders is July 2, 2026. Bids will be opened on July 3.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad, invited bids for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 1,252 kW solar power generation system at its Sahyadri and Nila campuses in Kerala as part of the construction of its permanent campus under Phase B. Bids must be submitted by July 8, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.
