Northeastern Railway invites bids for 10 MW rooftop solar projects in Uttar Pradesh

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission reiterated that the approved methodology in the National Load Despatch Centre’s detailed procedure applies to all the Deviation Settlement Mechanism Pool Account deficits starting September 16, 2024. It directed the distribution companies to ensure timely payment of dues to avoid delays in compensating ancillary service providers and maintain grid stability.

The Varanasi division (electrical) of the Northeastern Railway floated four tenders for a cumulative 10.4 MW on-grid rooftop solar systems at multiple buildings in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Selected bidders must supply, install, test, and commission Mono PERC half-cut solar panels with the latest standard quality solar modules per Solar Energy Corporation of India and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy guidelines. They must install the systems at multiple locations, including building terraces, platform sheds, and platform shed pathways.

Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency issued a tender for the engineering, procurement, and construction of 4 MW rooftop solar projects with battery integration. The projects will be implemented across various locations in Odisha under a rate contract basis. Bids must be submitted by January 27, 2025. Bids will be opened on February 1. Selected bidders must design, engineer, supply, install, test, commission, and maintain the rooftop solar projects. They must also conduct the complete lifecycle management of the projects and integrate them with battery systems.

NTPC invited bids for procuring 219,000 tons of non-torrefied biomass pellets at its coal-fired thermal power plant in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. Bids must be submitted by January 28, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day. Selected bidders must supply, load, transport, and deliver agro-residue-based non-torrefied biomass pellets at the national capital power station. They must unload the product at the site, provided the pellets are loose-filled in the carriage vehicles.

ITI, a public sector undertaking under the Department of Telecommunications, issued an expression of interest in setting up 2 MW off-grid rooftop solar systems across Odisha. Bids must be submitted by January 24, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day. Selected bidders must design, engineer, supply, install, test, and commission rooftop solar systems. They must also provide comprehensive operations and maintenance services for five years.

Independent power producer Sunsure Energy secured ₹4.16 billion (~$48.07 million) in long-term debt financing from Aseem Infrastructure Finance to develop a 150 MW open access solar park in Solapur, Maharashtra. The project’s first phase is operational, supplying clean energy to industrial customers. The full capacity is scheduled for completion by March 2025. Sunsure is developing the Solapur solar park through multiple special-purpose vehicles and has entered into long-term power purchase agreements with industrial clients across Maharashtra.
