The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) introduced a standardized mechanism allowing renewable energy and other eligible connectivity grantees additional time to meet land, financial closure, and commercial operation milestones under the general network access regulations by paying milestone extension charges.

NLC India Renewables (NIRL) announced the winner of its project management consultancy auction for two battery energy storage system projects totaling 275 MW/650 MWh and a 50 MW solar project in Tamil Nadu.

The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation launched the Distributed Renewable Energy Project Monitoring Tool to enable centralized and technology-driven monitoring of renewable energy projects across the state.

The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission dismissed a petition filed by U.P. Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam seeking an enabling regulatory framework for integrating, recognizing, and tariff-treating battery energy storage systems with thermal power stations.

The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission proposed the Draft Electricity Supply Regulations, 2026, consolidating the state’s rules governing electricity connections, metering, billing, security deposits, power supply to buildings, consumer installations, and unauthorized use of electricity. The draft notification seeks comments, suggestions, and objections from stakeholders within 30 days of its publication in the Gazette.

FCI Aravali Gypsum and Minerals India FCI Aravali Gypsum and Minerals India invited bids from engineering, procurement, and construction contractors to develop a 2.52 MW ground-mounted solar project under the build-own-operate model in Bhawad, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The last date to submit bids online is August 28, 2026. The bids will be opened the next day.

NTPC invited bids to supply 1,300 kWp of solar modules for its solar project at the Ramagundam Super Thermal Power Station in Peddapalli district, Telangana. Bids must be submitted by September 4, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.

REC Power Development and Consultancy invited bids to establish three packages of an interstate transmission system for evacuating 12 GW of renewable power from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone Phase IV, Part 6, at the Bikaner Complex. The projects will be developed on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis under three packages: Part A, Part B, and Part C. The last date to submit bids for Parts A and B is October 16, 2026, while bids for Part C must be submitted by October 19. Bids for Parts A and B will be opened on October 16, while those for Part C will be opened on October 19.

Agastya Green Energy, a renewable energy solutions provider, will invest approximately ₹78 billion (~$816.48 million) to establish 12 GW each of solar ingot and wafer manufacturing capacity in Andhra Pradesh. Agastya Green Energy is the green arm of edible oil manufacturer BN Group.

Gujarat-based solar module manufacturer Solex Energy reported a revenue of ₹2.66 billion (~$27.84 million) for the first quarter (Q1) of the financial year (FY) 2027, up 1.8% year-over-year (YoY) from ₹2.61 billion (~$27.32 million).

Uttar Pradesh-based renewable energy company Solarworld Energy Solutions reported revenue of ₹1.78 billion (~$18.62 million) in Q1 of FY 2027, rising 121% YoY compared to ₹805.5 million (~$8.42 million).

Germany-based solar energy equipment supplier SMA Solar Technology reported sales of €686.6 million (~$789.6 million) for the first half of 2026, up 0.3% YoY from €684.9 million (~$787.6 million). The figure included a €22.3 million (~$25.6 million) reduction in sales related to reimbursements of U.S. customs duties. Excluding this effect, sales stood at €708.9 million (~$815.2 million).

Electric vehicle maker Tesla is evaluating the development of a $10.1 billion solar cell manufacturing facility in Fort Bend County, Texas, according to an application filed under the state’s Jobs, Energy, Technology and Innovation program. The proposed facility, referred to as ‘Project Crystal Sun,’ would manufacture solar cells and assemble solar modules.
