Maharashtra and Rajasthan are frontrunners in adopting the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program Component C, demonstrating progress in scaling renewable energy infrastructure to meet the dual objectives of sustainable agriculture and energy security. The two states are set to contribute over 10 GW of solar capacity under the PM-KUSUM program by 2025.

The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) issued a request for selection to set up 10,000 off-grid solar water pumps of capacities ranging from 1 HP to 7.5 HP under Component-B of the PM-KUSUM program. The tender specifies that the number of water pumps can be revised by 20% based on feasibility and other conditions. The scope of work includes designing, manufacturing, supplying, transporting, installing, testing, and commissioning the solar water pumps.

Gujarat-based Onix Renewable invited expressions of interest to set up 1,959 MW ground-mounted, fixed-tilt solar power projects across 252 locations in Maharashtra. Onix will supply the solar modules and inverters for the projects. Bids must be submitted by January 17, 2025. Selected bidders must design, engineer, procure, supply, erect, test, and commission the solar projects in an engineering, procurement, and construction mode. They must also provide operation and maintenance services for three years.

The Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam invited bids to set up 26.77 MW grid-connected solar power projects through the renewable energy service company model under Component C of PM-KUSUM. The last date to submit bids is January 15, 2025. Bids will be opened on January 17. The scope of work involves designing, surveying, supplying, installing, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance for 25 years from the date of commissioning of the projects.
