CMPDI Invites Bids for 1.3 MW Rooftop Solar Project at Northern Coalfields

Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India, has invited bids to implement a grid-connected 1,300 kW rooftop solar power project for Northern Coalfields (NCL).
The project will be implemented at the integrated water supply system, the Khadia, Kakri, and Bina mines, and the NCL area in Uttar Pradesh.
Bids must be submitted by February 22, 2025. Bids will be opened on February 24.
Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹1.07 million (~$12,311).
Selected bidders must design, engineer, procure, supply, fabricate, erect, test, and commission the project. They must also conduct the associated civil, structural, and electrical works for power evacuation and obtain connectivity approvals.
They must provide operation and maintenance services for ten years.
The project must be completed within 12.5 months of the award.
The project’s estimated cost is ₹85.85 million (~$984,818).
Bidders must have completed any of the following similar works in the last seven years:
- Three similar works, each costing at least 20% of the estimated project cost.
- Two similar works, each costing at least 25% of the estimated project cost.
- One similar work costing at least 40% of the estimated project cost.
They must furnish proof for possessing working capital of at least 20% of the “annualized value or estimated value, whichever is less” of the project). For joint ventures or consortiums, the working capital requirement is as follows:
- The lead member must have at least a 50% share of the required working capital.
- Other members must have at least a 25% share of the required working capital.
Bidders must have an annual financial turnover of at least 30% of the estimated project cost in the last three financial years.
In November 2024, CMPDI floated a tender for the design, engineering, procurement, and commissioning of a 10 MW grid-connected solar power project at the Lakhanpur, Mahanadi Coalfields.
