Commercial and industrial (C&I) businesses account for a large share of India’s energy demand. The cost of grid power charged by the distribution companies has been rising due to higher power purchase costs. This has pushed several C&I businesses to opt for cheaper renewable energy sources.

The costs of sourcing renewable energy through open access or by installing rooftop solar will be far more economical than grid tariffs. Besides the economic benefits, businesses can also reduce their carbon footprint and make their operations more environmentally friendly.

Mercom India has been hosting the C&I Clean Energy Meet series across Indian cities. The next event (26th in the series) will be held in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on December 12, 2025, at Hotel Centre Point.

These events aim to raise awareness among power consumers about the benefits of transitioning to clean energy.

The Nagpur event will bring consumers, renewable energy developers, and lending agencies on one platform, where they can gain insights into clean energy sourcing, the technology options, and access to finance.

The event will feature panel discussions and case studies that shed light on how businesses can discover optimal solutions for procuring affordable, reliable, clean energy.

The discussions will also help businesses understand how to transition seamlessly to clean energy while navigating technological and financial challenges.

Consultants, energy auditors, equipment and component manufacturers, lenders, and investors will also benefit from this event. The event will be useful for facility and project managers, C-level executives of C&I businesses, engineers, procurement managers, and other decision-makers.

Registrations for the day-long event will begin at 9:30 AM. The inaugural session, led by Prashant Mohota, President of the Vidarbha Industries Association, and P Mohan, President of the MIDC Industries Association, will follow the registrations.

Next will be a panel discussion on “Harnessing the Green Route to Reducing Electricity Bills,” featuring Shrikant Soni, DGM, Business Development at Kalpa Power, and Vikash Upadhyay, Vice President, Sales at Swelect Energy Systems.

This discussion will be followed by a panel covering “Switching to Renewable Energy and Optimizing Savings.” Speakers will include Santosh Mahadik, Chief, Solar Park Business at Enrich Energy, and Rahul Makahaniya, Chief Marketing Officer at Soleos Energy.

After a short tea break, Kalpa Power and Enrich Energy will present case studies.

The case study presentations will be followed by a panel discussion on “Attractive Financing Options – Easy and Affordable Green Loans,” featuring Priyanka Gaikwad, Deputy General Manager at Small Industries Development Bank of India, and Kuldeep Kishore, AGM at Bank of India.

There will also be a networking lunch. The event will conclude with an interactive question-and-answer session.
