Central Railway Invites Bids for 1.24 MW Rooftop Solar System in Bihar

The Sonpur Division (Electrical) of Central Railway has invited bids to set up a 1.24 MW rooftop solar system in Bihar through a public-private partnership. The power generated will be supplied to Railways for 25 years at a tariff of ₹5.59 (~$0.066)/kWh.

The last date to submit the bids is December 13, 2024. Bids will be opened on the same date.

The tender document fee is ₹10,000 (~$118.6). Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹969,200 (~$11,501).

The project’s estimated cost is ₹48.4 million (~$574,217). The selected installer must operate and maintain the system for 25 years.

The total contract amount received by the bidders during the last three financial years should be at least 150% of the estimated project cost.

In the case of a consortium, the members must have an equity share of at least 26% each in the special purpose vehicle.

Bidders must have received payments for at least one grid-connected solar project over the past three financial years for a minimum value of 35% of the contracted capacity. They must submit the list of projects commissioned along with a copy of the commissioning certificate and work order from the client.

The Tinsukia Division of Northeast Frontier Railway has floated a tender to provide 1.38 MW rooftop solar power systems at stations, service buildings, residential buildings, and gates under its jurisdiction.

In May, the Pune Division of Central Railway invited bids for state-wise empanelment of agencies to implement grid-connected rooftop solar power projects in Maharashtra through public-private partnerships.

In September, the South Central Railway invited bids to install rooftop solar systems of a total capacity of 1,237 kW at service buildings across the Hyderabad Division.
