CEL Looking for EPC Contractors to Develop 12 MW of Solar Projects in Maharashtra

Interested EPC contractors can submit their bids by April 17, 2018

The Central Electronics Limited (CEL), a public-sector enterprise of the government of India, is on the lookout for engineering procurement construction (EPC) contractors to develop 12 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Maharashtra. The bid-submission deadline is April 17, 2018.

The projects will be developed on turnkey basis and the scope of work includes the design, engineering, supply, construction, testing and commissioning of the grid-connected solar PV projects.

The successful bidder will be responsible for operation and maintenance of the grid-connected solar PV projects for a period of 10 years.

The successful bidder will also be responsible for the performance demonstration with associated equipment and materials along with associated transmission system up to 11 kV at designated locations.

A single bidder must bid for the entire capacity tendered. The minimum project capacity at a single location will be 500 kW and the maximum project capacity to be developed at a single location will be 2 MW.

CEL has mandated that the mechanical structures, all materials supplied by EPC contractor, electrical works and overall workmanship of the grid-connected solar PV project must be warranted for a period of 10 years from the date of commercial operation.

In February 2018, CEL tendered 5 MW of rooftop solar PV projects to be developed at various Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) premises across the country.

Mercom previously reported that CEL tendered 120 MW of grid-connected solar to be developed across the states of Gujarat, Telangana, and Maharashtra.

In April 2017, the CEL tendered 3.22 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar to be installed at railway workshops in states under the Northern Railways. It also invited an Expression of Interest (EoI) to form a strategic alliance to manufacture flexible solar photovoltaic (PV) modules in India.
