Bridge and Roof Wins SJVN’s Auction to Set Up 100 MW Solar Project

Bridge and Roof Company, a government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, has won SJVN Green Energy’s engineering, procurement and construction auction to set up a 100 MW solar power project in the Didwana-Kuchaman district of Rajasthan.
The project’s estimated cost is ₹3.5 billion (~$40.44 million).
The tender was floated in April 2024.
The scope of work entails developing land, designing and engineering, procuring equipment and material, testing at the manufacturer’s works, packing and forwarding, transportation, supply, unloading at the site, storage, installation, erection, testing, commissioning, performance demonstration, and operational acceptance of the projects on a turnkey basis.
It also involves securing insurance at all stages, conducting associated civil and electrical works, providing related services, and obtaining permits and licenses .
It had mandated using domestically manufactured modules listed on the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
SJVN has signed a power purchase agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam for the power generated from the project.
SJVN was chosen from bidders with experience in developing or executing EPC projects for grid-connected solar projects of at least 30 MW, including one of 10 MW, operational for three months. Bidders for the tender had also executed industrial projects worth ₹1.83 billion (~$21.14 million) and a 33 kV substation, both operational for six months.
In May 2023, SJVN Green Energy won 100 MW in RUVNL’s auction to supply 1 GW of power from state transmission utility-connected solar power projects in the state.
Last year, Bridge and Roof Company invited bids to set up a 2.3 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project at the Khidirpore Dock II in Kolkata, West Bengal.
In December 2024, SJVN Green invited bids to develop 1,352 MW solar projects distributed across 102 sites in Maharashtra. These projects are being implemented under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0.
