Bokaro Power Issues O&M Tender for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Projects

Bokaro Power Supply Company (BPSCL) has invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of 2 MW of rooftop solar projects across various buildings inside and outside the Bokaro Steel Plant in Jharkhand.
The last date to submit bids is February 9, 2026. Bids will be opened on February 10.
Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹100,000 (~$1,104).
Micro, small, and medium enterprises/public sector undertakings/government undertakings, and co-operative societies will be exempted from the requirement to submit an earnest money deposit.
The scope of work covers weekly cleaning of solar panels, attending to ground faults and removing them, and weekly monitoring of the string current for all solar projects.
It also covers collecting daily generation reports from the remote monitoring system and recording monthly physical meter readings.
The project’s scope also includes maintenance and upkeep of all equipment, restoration of equipment following breakdowns within 48 hours, and periodic preventive maintenance.
Successful bidders must repair or replace deflective parts and equipment and ensure the operation of the existing system.
They must also prepare a maintenance plan and deploy qualified personnel to supervise and maintain the solar project.
Selected bidders must ensure a net minimum guaranteed generation of at least 1.7 million units for the upcoming five years in FY 2027, and the net minimum guaranteed generation will reduce to 1.67 million units by the end of FY 2031.
Bokaro Power is a joint venture between Steel Authority of India and Damodar Valley Corporation.
Last year, the National Buildings Construction Corporation also floated an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) tender to set up a 4 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project at the Bokaro Steel Plant in Jharkhand.
In the same year, Tenughat Vidyut Nigam also invited bids for the EPC of 50 MW solar power projects at the Tenughat Thermal Power Station at Bokaro, Jharkhand, on a turnkey basis.
