Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of 12.5 MW of solar projects installed at its facility in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, for one year.

The vendor should engage maintenance personnel for the 5 MW and 7.5 MW solar projects to carry out solar panel cleaning, vegetation removal, outer yard HT maintenance, and transformer oil filtration works for one year.

The last date to submit the bids is February 21, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders will have to submit ₹51,462 (~$624) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder must submit an amount equivalent to 5% of the contract value as a security deposit within 15 days of the bid’s acceptance.

Only vendors with an electrical license issued by the state government will be eligible to participate in the bidding.

Bidders should have a minimum of one year of experience in carrying out annual maintenance works of a solar power project of 1 MW or higher capacity in the past ten years.

In case of delays, 0.5% of the line item value will be deducted from the bill or recovered from the security deposit for each day of delay as liquidated damages, subject to a ceiling of 10% of the contract value.

Purchase preference will be given to micro and small enterprises (MSEs). If the lowest bidder (L-1) is not an MSE and the MSE service provider has quoted a price within L-1+ 15% of margin, then 100% order quantity will be awarded to such MSE bidder subject to acceptance of the L1 bid price.

The contractor should supervise the execution of the contract or appoint an agent acceptable to BHEL officials.

The contractor will be responsible for providing for all precautions to prevent loss or damage from all risks and to minimize the amount of any such loss or damage.

Recently, BHEL invited bids for O&M of a 5 MW solar power project at its facility in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu.

Earlier, BHEL had invited bids for O&M of a 5 MW solar power project at its heavy electrical equipment plant in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, BHEL has so far floated O&M tenders for 1,007 MW of solar power projects.
