Andhra Pradesh Approves ₹180 Billion Investments in Clean Energy
The proposals cleared relate to green ammonia and hydrogen, solar and electric mobility

The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) approved several significant investments in the renewable energy sector to enhance the state’s energy infrastructure, promote sustainability, and create job opportunities.
The projects approved involve a total investment of ₹180 billion (~$2.20 billion).
AM Green Ammonia India has secured approval for ₹120 billion (~$1.46 billion) for a green ammonia project in Kakinada. This investment is one of the largest approved projects and aims to create 2,600 jobs.
The John Cockerill Green Hydrogen Solution led project based in Kakinada has received approval for an investment of ₹20 billion (~$243.9 million) for its hydrogen-based energy project.
Tata Power Renewable Energy’s proposal to expand its renewable energy capacity in Kurnool has been cleared for an investment of ₹20 billion (~$243.9 million). This project will focus on solar, wind, and other renewable energy sources and aims to create 1,380 jobs. The solar power project spans 1,800 acres and is expected to generate 400 MW of power.
Clean Renewable Energy Hybrid Project Three in Nandyal, Kadapa, has also received clearance for an investment of ₹20 billion (~$243.9 million). This investment will focus on hybrid renewable energy solutions including solar, wind, and other clean energy sources, and aims to create 650 jobs.
Among other projects that received clearance from the SIPB was Azad India Mobility’s proposal to manufacture electric buses, three-wheelers and battery packs in Satya Sai district.
In October 2024, the Andhra Pradesh government announced the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024 to transform the state into a global clean energy hub. The state aims to add over 160 GW of renewable energy capacity and attract investments worth approximately ₹10 trillion (~$121.95 billion).
It also unveiled its Sustainable Electric Mobility Policy 4.0 aiming to make the state a global hub for high-value electric vehicle manufacturing.
