Market Expansion Helps Amara Raja Energy’s Revenue Growth in Q2 FY 2025
The company saw increased demand for a new range of absorbent glass mat batteries

Battery manufacturer Amara Raja Energy & Mobility has recorded a revenue of ₹32.51 billion (~$385.32 million) in the second quarter (Q2) of the financial year (FY) 2025, up 9.8% year-over-year (YoY) from ₹29.6 billion (~$350.83 million).
The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) grew by 1.7% YoY to ₹4.33 billion (~$51.32 million).
The company posted a net profit of ₹2.36 billion (~$27.97 million) in Q2 FY25, a decrease of 1.2% over the same period last year.
“The revenue and profit numbers showcase our consistent performance across verticals. We have witnessed good traction from the new geographies that we expanded in the last quarter, and it was spearheaded by our new range of indigenously designed Absorbent Glass Mat batteries” said Harshavardhana Gourineni, Executive Director for the Automotive and Industrial division.
Amara Raja reported earnings per share (EPS) of ₹12.87 (~$0.152) compared to ₹13.03 (~$0.154) in the corresponding period last year.
First half (1H) FY25
Amara Raja posted a total revenue of ₹65.14 billion (~$772.06 million) in 1H FY25, an increase of 13% YoY.
Net profit came in at ₹4.85 billion (~$57.48 million), an increase of 11% over the same period last year.
Amara Raja reported EPS of ₹26.48 (~$0.314) for 1H compared to ₹23.86 (~$0.282) in the corresponding period last year.
Amara Raja announced a profit before tax of ₹3.29 billion (~$39.1 million) for the first quarter of the financial year FY25, up 23% YoY from ₹2.66 billion (~$31.6 million).
Amara Raja Infra, an Amara Raja Group company, secured the balance of system supply contract for a 500 MW solar power project in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district from renewable energy company Greenko.
In May 2023, Amara Raja set up Telangana’s first gigafactory for lithium cell and battery pack manufacturing in the Mahbubnagar district. The unit, which has a capacity of up to 16 GWh, caters to domestic and international markets.
