Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Uttar Pradesh, has invited bids for the comprehensive annual maintenance of its 3 MW ground-mounted solar project, including the operation and maintenance of a 33 kV transmission overhead line of approximately 3 km and a connection to the 33 KV HT panels at both ends.

The project is located within the university premises in Aligarh.

Bids must be submitted by April 8, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹2.602 million (~$30,062.10).

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹52,050 (~$600.17).

Successful bidders must furnish a performance bank guarantee of 5% of the awarded contract value. A payment security deposit of 3% of the awarded value will also be deducted from the running bills.

The scope of work entails preventive/corrective maintenance (such as module cleaning and inverter checks), performance monitoring and reporting, and safety and security services. The transmission line work covers inspection (for damage), maintenance (insulator/conductor/pole repair, vegetation control), and fault detection and repair.

Bidders must possess a valid “A Class” electrical contracting license and a performance experience certificate for successfully operating and maintaining a ground-mounted solar project with a minimum capacity of 3 MW.

They must also have a solvency certificate for at least 40% of the estimated cost put to the tender.

In July last year, the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad invited expressions of interest to set up a 3.5 MW in-house captive solar photovoltaic project to maximize energy savings at its campus.

In March 2024, Bundelkhand University in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, invited bids from solar developers to set up a 1.2 MW grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic project.

In the same month, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, floated a tender for designing, installing, testing, and commissioning 1.5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar power systems on various university buildings.
