In an interview on the sidelines of the Mercom India Renewables Summit 2026, held in New Delhi on July 1 and 2, Dr. Pallavi Bharadwaj and Gupteshwar Behera from IIT Gandhinagar said AI can optimize integrated energy systems that include electricity, cooling, heating, water, gas, batteries, and heat pumps. Their platform, Vidyut AI, creates a digital twin of the consumer’s energy system and uses multi-objective optimization to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs, extend asset life, and increase the use of renewable energy. They said the system is designed to be scalable, modular, and adaptable to different consumer requirements.
