<p>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:</p>
<p><strong>Fuel retailer <a href="https://www.reliancepetroleum.com/rbml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Reliance BP Mobility Limited</a> and food delivery app Swiggy have inked</strong><strong> a pact to deploy electric two-wheelers for last-mile and food delivery. </strong>Reliance BP Mobility plans to set up a network of Jio-BP battery swapping stations at its retail outlets and residential and commercial complexes, malls, hotels, business parks, information technology hubs, parking lots, among other locations with Swiggy’s assistance over the next five years. Swiggy’s delivery partners will also be provided with the required technical assistance and training to swap batteries.</p>
<p><strong>State-owned Convergence Energy Services Limited (</strong><a href="https://eeslindia.org/en/cesl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>CESL</strong></a><strong>), a 100% subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited, has signed a memorandum of understanding with BSES Delhi </strong>to design energy transition solutions. The program will explore the potential to accelerate India’s decarbonization journey through novel business models, better commercial solutions, and carbon finance. Under the pact, BSES and CESL will undertake feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for distributed solar projects with battery energy storage. CESL will explore business models for battery energy storage through the partnership to support BSES in expanding its renewable energy portfolio and goals of decarbonizing the grid.</p>
<p><strong>Telecommunications equipment manufacturer </strong><a href="https://www.itiltd.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Indian Telephone Industries</strong></a><strong> has invited bids to supply 199,000 polycrystalline solar cells.</strong> The last date for submission of bids is August 18, 2021, and the bids would be opened the next day. The estimated value of the tender is ₹9.65 million (~$130,088). Successful bidders are expected to complete the delivery within 30 days from the date of the purchase order.</p>
<p><strong>The Solar Energy Corporation of India has </strong><a href="https://www.seci.co.in/Upload/New/637637548658169832.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>issued</strong></a><strong> a tender</strong><strong> to set up a 25 kW green hydrogen pilot project at SNM Hospital in Leh, Ladakh.</strong> Made on a build, own, and operate basis,  the project will supply electricity, heat, and oxygen to the hospital. An online consultation meeting has been scheduled on August 10, 2021, with stakeholders before the issuance of the tender.</p>
<p><strong>The Union Minister for the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh, in a written reply to Rajya Sabha </strong><a href="https://pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1742793" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> a National Hydrogen Energy Mission </strong>draft document. The document, among other things, aims to scale green hydrogen production and utilization across multiple sectors, including transportation. In September 2020, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had specified the safety and type-approval requirements for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in Automotive Industry Standard 157. In the same month, an 18% blend of hydrogen with compressed natural gas had been notified as an automotive fuel. The document is currently under inter-ministerial consultation.</p>
