					</table><p>Military Engineer Services (<a href="https://mes.gov.in/en/southern-ce-af-bangalore-zone-cwe-af-trivandrum-ges/ge-af-sulur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MES</a>) has invited bids for 1.33 MW solar power projects at various locations at Jaipur Military Station.</p>
<p>The last date for submission of bids is March 7, 2024. Bids will be opened on March 9.</p>
<p>The planned schedule for the work within the tender scope is formulated using the Critical Path Method (CPM).</p>
<p>The bidder is required to have a thorough understanding of the CPM technique and should employ technical staff capable of using the technique.</p>
<p>The estimated cost of the project is ₹92 million (~$1.1 million). Work must be completed within 365 days.</p>
<p>Bidders have to submit ₹3,000 (~$36.12) as cost of the tender document.</p>
<p>Contractors not registered with MES or those registered but have not fulfilled the standing security bond requirement must provide an earnest money deposit of ₹785,000 (~$9,452.58).</p>
<p>The selected bidder should also submit a performance bank guarantee for 5% of the contract amount within 28 days of receiving the letter of acceptance.</p>
<p>The distribution of payments across various stages of the project is outlined as follows: 1% will be paid out after the initial stages encompassing the design, supply of the scheme, approval of the same, and vetting by the vetting agency.</p>
<p>50% is earmarked for after the supply of items, their installation, and fixing, which also includes payments that have already been made. Subsequently, 75% will be paid out after the testing and commissioning of the project, incorporating payments made during this phase.</p>
<p>Finally, upon the expiration of the defects liability period, the remaining 100%, inclusive of payments made throughout the project, will be paid out.</p>
<p>MES enlisted contractors must meet the enlistment criteria as per MES Enlistment rules and should have no adverse remarks in workload returns or any similar report circulated by the relevant engineering authority.</p>
<p>Contractors not enlisted with MES must fulfill the enlistment criteria concerning the satisfactory completion of works with central/state government/ central/ state PSUs, annual turnover, bank solvency, working capital, and other requirements.</p>
<p>The contractors, both enlisted and non-enlisted, are required to have a Memorandum of Understanding with solar power firms rated as 1A/1B/1C/2A/2B/2C by either Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited (CRISIL), Credit Analysis and Research Limited (CARE), Fitch Ratings (FITCH), Investment Information and Credit Rating Agency of India Limited (ICRA), Small and Medium Enterprises Rating Agency of India (SMERA) or Brick Work Ratings India.</p>
<p>MES recently <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/mes-balance-work-1-mw-rooftop-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> a tender to complete the balance work of 1 MW rooftop solar systems at the Air Force Station in Nagpur.</p>
<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/modi-announces-new-rooftop-solar-on-10-million-homes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a new program to install rooftop solar systems in 10 million households across India as part of the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana initiative.</p>

MES Floats Tender for 1.33 MW Solar Projects at Jaipur Military Station

					</table><p>Damodar Valley Corporation (<a href="https://www.dvc.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DVC)</a> has invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and five-year operation and maintenance of an 8 MW grid-tied ground-mounted solar power project at the DVC plant at Konar village in Hazaribagh District, Jharkhand.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is February 5, 2024. Bids will be opened on February 6.</p>
<p>Bidders must submit a tender fee of ₹25,000 (~$300) and an earnest money deposit of ₹4.2 million (~$50,660.9)</p>
<p>The location of the project is at the DVC Konar Dam, and the specified cell or module technology for the solar installation is mono-crystalline. The tender is flexible concerning the origin of the cell/module manufacturer.</p>
<p>The modules must have a warranty of at least ten years from the supply date, covering material/manufacturing defects and workmanship.</p>
<p>The modules should be warranted with a linear degradation rate of power output, excluding the first year (up to 3%, including LID), and guarantee a minimum of 80% of the initial rated power output after 25 years from the date of commercial operation.</p>
<p>The electrical connection should be done at a voltage level of 33 kV, linking to the DVC 132 kV/33 kV Konar substation at the interconnection point.</p>
<p>The performance parameters at the 33 kV termination point of the DVC switchyard include a minimum performance ratio of 77%. The Capacity Utilization Factor at the same termination point is specified to be 22.5%.</p>
<p>Bidders must independently inspect the site to assess the site&#8217;s form, geological conditions, access, and loading/unloading facilities before submitting bids.</p>
<p>They must prepare a comprehensive design basis report, incorporating relevant standards and detailed clause descriptions. The submission should include a summary master schedule or Level 2 schedule, accompanied by a PERT Chart and master drawing list.</p>
<p>Prior to the commencement of detailed engineering and project work, the contractor must submit these documents to the owner for review and approval.</p>
<p>The scope of work of the selected developer also includes conducting a feasibility study for a grid-tied rooftop solar system, which is designated for installation on the roof of the main control room (MCR) buildings. The system&#8217;s capacity will be determined during the detailed design and engineering stage based on the available rooftop area.</p>
<p>The rooftop solar system will be integrated with the low-tension system of the MCR building. The general specifications of the rooftop solar system are expected to align with those of a ground-mounted solar system, ensuring consistency in overall design and functionality.</p>
<p>In February last year, DVC <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/damodar-valley-corp-8-mw-solar-project-jharkhand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids from engineering, procurement, and construction contractors to commission an 8 MW ground-mounted solar project in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.</p>
<p>Earlier, DVC had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/bids-10-mw-solar-projects-in-jharkhand/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to install and commission 10 MW of grid-connected solar projects at its thermal power station in Koderma, Jharkhand.</p>

DVC Invites Bids for 8 MW Solar Project in Jharkhand

<p>The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Indore has joined the league of green campuses in the country by installing 422 kW solar rooftop power system in its premises. The project was commissioned by <a href="http://bvgindia.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BVG India Ltd</a>, an integrated services company.</p>
<p>The solar system is spread across 4,220 square meters and expected to generate over 1,580 kWp per annum of electricity. This will help the institute to reduce 500 tons of carbon dioxide annually.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/iit-kharagpur-eoi-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">May 2018</a>, IIT Kharagpur had invited expression of interest to develop 5.5 MW of solar projects.</p>
<p>An increasing number of educational institutions are turning to solar as it is a cheaper source of electricity and also helps curb toxic carbon emissions. Of late, a number of educational centers across the country have adopted cost-effective rooftop solar as a way to build a sustainable future.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/jnu-installs-500-kw-rooftop-solar-system/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Recently,</a> Jawaharlal Nehru University (<a href="https://www.jnu.ac.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">JNU</a>) installed a 500 kW rooftop solar system to light up its classrooms.</p>
<p>Mumbai’s St Xavier’s High School has also<a href="https://mercomindia.com/st-xaviers-school-mumbai-rooftop-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> installed</a> a 35 kW rooftop solar system to save approximately ₹700,000 (~$9,726) every year on its electricity bill.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/amity-installs-1-8-mw-solar-campuses/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">July 2018</a>, Amity University installed rooftop solar PV projects totaling 1.8 MW across three campuses.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/uttarakhand-gb-pant-university-rooftop-tender/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In May 2018</a>, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Uttarakhand’s Pantnagar town tendered a 5 MW grid-connected rooftop solar PV project.</p>
<p>Solar initiatives undertaken by the educational institutions are setting a good example for the rest of the country. Not only will this make the country adopt a sustainable and economical source of power, it will support the overall growth trajectory of the rooftop solar sector.</p>
<p>In addition to individual institutions, some of India’s state governments have taken the initiative to power their schools using solar energy.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/haryana-solar-hybrid-government-schools/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Last year</a>, the Haryana government announced it will install solar hybrid systems in all government schools of the state in a phased manner.</p>
<p>According to the latest quarterly report by <a href="https://mercomindia.com/product/solarinstallations-q3-2018/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mercom India Research</a>, India’s solar installations have reached 6.6 GW year-to-date with large-scale projects making up 5,382 MW and rooftop installations accounting for 1,240 MW. Rooftop installations in Q3 2018 accounted for 435 MW, which was a 5 percent increase from 415 MW installed in Q2 2018, and a 64 percent increase when compared to 265 MW installed in Q3 2017.</p>
