					</table><p>SJVN Green Energy (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of <a href="https://sjvn.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SJVN</a>, has signed a joint venture and shareholders agreement with Assam Power Distribution Company (<a href="https://www.apdcl.org/website/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">APDCL</a>) to execute renewable energy projects/parks within the APDCL or SJVN jurisdiction areas and on a pan-India basis.</p>
<p>SGEL will hold 51% of the ownership of the new JV company, while APDCL will own the remaining 49%.</p>
<p>SJVN has frequently collaborated with APDCL to encourage renewable energy project development within the state.</p>
<p>The company had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-to-develop-1-gw-of-solar-projects-in-assam" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a memorandum of understanding with APDCL in October 2022 to form a JV to set up 1,000 MW of floating solar power projects worth ₹60 billion ($721.19 million) in Assam.</p>
<p>In December 2023, SGEL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-bids-to-acquire-solar-projects-in-assam" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to purchase or lease up to 1,000 acres of land in Assam for 28 years to develop 200 MW of solar power projects, including connectivity with the state transmission utility system.</p>
<p>In August last year, SGEL was awarded 320 MW of solar project development contracts by APDCL through three separate tariff-based competitive bidding tenders, i.e., 50 MW, 70 MW, and 200 MW.</p>
<p>The 50 MW and 70 MW projects will be developed under the solar park category at a tariff of ₹3.92 (~$0.0471)/kWh, and the 200 MW project is to be developed anywhere in Assam at a tariff of ₹3.90 (~$0.0469)</p>
<p>SGEL recently <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-50-mw-solar-project-assam" target="_blank" rel="noopener">broke</a> ground for a 50 MW solar power project at the Sitalmari village of Sonitpur district in Assam. The project is estimated to cost ₹2.91 billion (~$34.98 million).</p>
<p>The company is also in the process of establishing a JV with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company to develop 5,000 MW renewable energy projects. This is in addition to another JV with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and Navyuga Engineering Company to execute the development of the 1,878 MW Oju Hydro Electric Project in Arunachal Pradesh.</p>
<p>In January 2024, SJVN <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-%e2%82%b9100-billion-fund-construction-renewable-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that it had secured ₹100 billion (~$1.2 billion) construction financing facility to fund its upcoming renewable energy projects.</p>
<p>Recently, APDCL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/assam-issues-consultancy-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> expressions of interest for project management consultant services for a 1,000 MW grid-connected solar project in Karbi Anglong district of Assam. The solar project, financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is part of the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sauro Shakti Prokolpo’ initiative of the Assam government.</p>

SJVN Green Forms JV with Assam DISCOM to Develop Renewable Projects

					</table><p>SJVN Green Energy (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of <a href="https://sjvn.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SJVN</a>, has broken ground for its 50 MW solar power project at the Sitalmari village of Sonitpur district in Assam.</p>
<p>Located in Barsola Block under the Dhekiajuli Revenue Sector, the project is estimated to cost ₹2.91 billion (~$35.17 million).</p>
<p>The project is expected to generate 101 MU of green energy in the first year and 2,319 MU of cumulative energy over 25 years.</p>
<p>The power generated will be supplied to the Assam Power Development Corporation (<a href="https://www.apdcl.org/website/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">APDCL</a>) at a tariff of ₹3.92 (~$0.0474)/kWh.</p>
<p>APDCL floated the tender in February 2023 to procure 50 MW of power from a ground-mounted solar project for 25 years to be set up under the build-own-operate model.</p>
<p>The contract for this 50 MW and two other projects of 70 MW and 200 MW were awarded, and letters of award were issued to SGEL in August 2023.</p>
<p>The 50 MW and 70 MW solar projects, allotted at the tariff of ₹3.92 (~$0.0474)/kWh, will be developed under the solar park category. The third solar project of 200 MW capacity was allotted at the tariff of ₹3.90 (~$0.0471)/kWh to be developed anywhere in Assam.</p>
<p>All the projects are expected to be commissioned by March 2025.</p>
<p>SGEL will be responsible for identifying suitable substations/grid substations and carrying out any evacuation assessment study at its own cost with respect to the project’s connectivity to the grid substation.</p>
<p>In October 2023, SGEL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-green-120-mw-solar-projects-assam" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> an engineering, procurement, and construction tender to commission the 50 MW and 70 MW capacities.</p>

SJVN Breaks Ground for 50 MW Solar Project in Assam

					</table><p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-green-connected-wind-solar-hybrid-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>SJVN Green Energy, a subsidiary of SJVN, has invited bids to select developers to set up 1,500 MW of Interstate Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind and solar hybrid power projects in India</strong>.</a> The last date for submitting bids is March 19, 2024. Bids will be opened on March 20. Bidders have to submit ₹29,500 (~$356) as the cost of the tender document and ₹1.5 million (~$18,108) +18% GST as the bid processing fee. Bidders have to submit an earnest money deposit of ₹1.22 million (~$14,799.6)/MW of the quoted capacity.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/government-pilot-green-hydrogen-shipping" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has said the government has greenlit pilot projects aimed at decarbonizing the shipping sector using green hydrogen under the National Green</a></strong> Hydrogen Mission. The program aims to support the deployment of green hydrogen and its derivatives as fuel for ship propulsion and develop bunkering and refueling facilities at ports. It has an outlay of ₹1.15 billion (~$13.9 million) until the financial year 2025-26.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpcs-renewable-arm-wind-solar-hybrid-power" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, has invited bids for the selection of hybrid power generators for the supply of 1,000 MW power from ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid</a></strong> projects anywhere in India under Tranche-V. Projects with or without an energy storage system are eligible to participate in the bid and must be set up on a build-own-operate basis.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ev-leasing-firm-electrifi-secures-funding" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Commercial electric vehicle (EV) leasing and asset management company Electrifi Mobility secured ₹250 million (~$3.02 million) in seed-stage funding led by Asian Development Bank Ventures,</a></strong> AdvantEdge Founders, and others. The funding will help Electrifi scale up asset deployment, expand asset refurbishment service infrastructure, and fuel its plans to cover new cities. The company said it aims to deploy over ₹5 billion ($6 million) in commercial EV assets over the next three years, which will include electric two and three-wheelers, cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/scatec-q4-profit-solar-asset-sales-divestments" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Norway-based independent power producer Scatec reported a net profit of NOK724 million (~$70 million) in the fourth quarter of 2023, improving from a loss of NOK433 million (~$41.5 million)</a> </strong>a year ago, as the company executed various asset sales in the quarter to streamline its operations. The company owns and operates solar, wind, hydro, green hydrogen, and battery energy storage projects across the globe.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/adb-%E2%82%B912-5-billion-currency-bond-finance-green-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Asian Development Bank has raised ₹12.5 Billion (~$150 million) through green bonds, making it the largest Indian rupee bond to date.</a></strong> The proceeds from this bond will be used to finance ADB’s private-sector renewable energy projects and for green financing. Listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange at a fixed interest rate of 6.72% annually, this four-year currency-linked bond has a bullet repayment at maturity. While denominated in Indian rupees, the bonds will be settled in United States dollars with returns to investors indexed against the rupee’s performance.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/germanys-oversubscribed-by-a-record-240" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Germany’s auction to install 1.61 GW of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic systems was oversubscribed by 240%, setting a new record, according to data released by the federal network</a> </strong>agency Bundesnetzagentur. The auction received 574 bids, the highest ever, with a volume of 5,485 MW, the largest ever for a ground-mounted solar auction. A total of 124 bids with a volume of 1,613 MW were accepted. The bids quoted in the auction ranged from €0.0444 (~$0.043)/kWh to €0.0547 (~$0.054)/kWh and were below the ceiling tariff of €0.0737 (~$0.076)/kWh.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/extreme-weather-in-a-small-but-significant-way" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Climate change-induced extreme weather events like hail, flooding, and high winds are accelerating solar module damage above certain thresholds, causing greater long-term losses in system</a> </strong>performance, according to researchers from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Researchers compared photovoltaic system performance against the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s weather maps and studied how performance was affected when extreme events occurred within 10 kilometers of the systems.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/oxford-pv-for-its-perovskite-solar-modules" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>UK-based solar cell manufacturing company Oxford PV, in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, has reported a 25% conversion efficiency for its perovskite solar modules</strong>.</a> The company said that its silicon perovskite tandem solar modules delivered an output of 421 watts on an area of 1.68 square meters, making it one of the most efficient modules in the industrial format.</p>

					</table><p>SJVN Green Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of <a href="https://sjvn.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SJVN</a>, has won the contract to develop three solar power projects of a cumulative capacity of 320 MW from Assam Power Distribution Corporation (<a href="https://www.apdcl.org/website/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">APDCL</a>).</p>
<p>The estimated cost of the projects is ₹19 billion (~$229.87 million).</p>
<p>APDCL had floated the tenders for <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/assam-discom-issues-rfs-to-procure-50-mw-solar-power" target="_blank" rel="noopener">50 MW</a>, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/assam-discom-bids-70-mw-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">70 MW</a>, and <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/assam-discom-procure-200-mw-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">200 MW</a> solar projects in February this year and had set a ceiling tariff of ₹4 (~$0.0484)/kWh.</p>
<p>The 50 MW and 70 MW solar projects will be developed under the solar park category in Dhekiajuli and Dhubri, respectively, and have been allotted a tariff of ₹3.92 (~$0.0474)/kWh.</p>
<p>The third project of 200 MW capacity can be developed anywhere in Assam and will supply power at ₹3.90 (~$0.0472)/kWh.</p>
<p>The projects will be developed on a build, own, and operate basis and are expected to generate a cumulative 628 million units of electricity in the first year and a cumulative 14,591 million units over the 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) period with APDCL.</p>
<p>SJVN Green Energy must complete the projects within 18 months of signing the PPA, with an expected commission date of March 2025. They must also provide five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance services.</p>
<p>The projects are expected to reduce ~714,000 tons of carbon emissions over its life.</p>
<p>SJVN must remit ₹2.02 million (~$24,438)/ MW as a performance bank guarantee for each of the projects.</p>
<p>They must also maintain the declared capacity utilization factor for these projects at 16.21% per annum.</p>
<p>In March this year, the Assam Cabinet gave an in-principle <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/assam-approves-620-mw-renewable-energy-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approval</a> for setting up 620 MW of renewable energy projects under a joint venture between the Assam Power Generation Corporation and Oil India.</p>
<p>In October last year, SJVN Green Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-to-develop-1-gw-of-solar-projects-in-assam" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a memorandum of understanding with APDCL to invest ₹60 billion ($725.92 million) for developing 1,000 MW of floating solar projects in the state.</p>
<p>Recently, SJVN Green Energy also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-bags-%e2%82%b970-billion-contract-1-2-gw-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> a letter of intent from the Punjab State Power Corporation to develop 1,200 MW solar power projects.</p>

<p>The projects of 50 MW each will be installed at two locations in the state.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is November 14, 2022. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>Bidders must submit ₹26 million (~$315,991) as an earnest money deposit.</p>
<p>To be eligible, they should have experience as engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors or developers and must have designed, supplied, erected, and commissioned BoS of grid-connected solar power projects of a cumulative installed capacity of 30 MW or higher capacity. One of such projects should have been of 10 MW or higher capacity and be operating for at least three months before the date of the notice inviting tender.</p>
<p>Alternatively, bidders should have executed an industrial project in power, steel, oil &amp; gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, cement, coal mining, or any other process industry of a value of ₹750 million (~$9.12 million) in a single project. The project must have been operating for at least six months before the date of the notice inviting tender.</p>
<p>They should also have executed at least one electrical substation of 33 kV or above voltage level, consisting of equipment such as the 33 kV or above voltage level circuit breakers and power transformer, either as EPC contractors or developers. The substation should have been operating for at least six months before the date of the notice inviting tender.</p>
<p>The annual average turnover of bidders for the last three financial years should be at least ₹750 million (~$9.12 million) as of the last day of the previous financial year.</p>
<p>The net worth of bidders must be positive in the last financial year and any two of the three preceding financial years.</p>
<p>Bidders should have a working capital of ₹250 million (~$3.04 million) as of the last financial year.</p>
<p>Recently, SJVN Green Energy <a href="https://mercomindia.com/sjvn-floats-tender-70-mw-solar-projects-himachal-pradesh/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to install and commission 70 MW of grid-connected solar power projects in Himachal Pradesh.</p>
<p>Earlier, SJVN Green Energy <a href="https://mercomindia.com/sjvn-bids-develop-100-mw-solar-projects-punjab/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the design, engineering, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of 100 MW grid-connected solar power projects in Punjab.</p>
<p>According to Mercom’s <a href="https://mercomindia.com/product/india-solar-tender-tracker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">India Solar Tender Tracker</a>, SJVN has so far floated tenders for 1.9 GW of solar projects across the country.</p>

BoS Tender Floated for 100 MW of Solar Power Projects in Punjab

					</table><p>SJVN Green Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of <a href="https://sjvn.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SJVN</a>, has invited bids for the design, engineering, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of 100 MW grid-connected solar power projects in Punjab.</p>
<p>The successful bidder will also have to take care of the operation and maintenance of the project for two years.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the development of land, procurement of materials, transportation, supply, civil works, electrical works, design, engineering, installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of the projects on a turnkey basis.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is September 1, 2022. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>Bidders will have to submit ₹57.6 million (~$721,002) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will have to furnish a bank guarantee equivalent to ₹1.5 million (~$18.776)/MW of the total quoted capacity.</p>
<p>The projects will be installed at two locations of 50 MW each. The land for the projects are located at Pojewal and Rurki Chandpur, in Garhshankar Tehsil of Nawanshahr Punjab district.</p>
<p>SJVN Green Energy will enter into a power purchase agreement with the Punjab State Power Corporation (PSPC) for the sale of power.</p>
<p>Only enlisted engineering, procurement, and construction vendors are eligible to participate in this tender.</p>
<p>The average annual turnover of bidders for the last three financial years should be at least ₹1.7 billion (~$21.28 million). Their net worth in any two of the last three financial years should be positive.</p>
<p>Bidders should have a working capital of ₹250 million (~$3.13 million) as per the last financial year.</p>
<p>The solar modules to be used in the project should be from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.</p>
<p>In February this year, SJVN <a href="https://mercomindia.com/sjvn-land-solar-projects-himachal-pradesh-punjab/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> two tenders for land procurement to set up solar projects in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.</p>
<p>Last November, SJVN had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/daily-news-wrap-up-sjvn-bags-solar-project-punjab/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bagged</a> a 100 MW grid-connected solar power project from PSPC. The company won the project through the tariff-based competitive bidding process on a build, own, and operate basis through an e-reverse auction at a tariff of ₹2.69 (~$0.036)/kWh. The project is expected to generate 245.28 MU in the first year, while the cumulative energy generation over 25 years would be around 5643.52 MU.</p>
<p>According to Mercom’s <a href="https://mercomindia.com/product/india-solar-tender-tracker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">India Solar Tender Tracker</a>, SJVN Limited has so far floated tenders for 1.9 GW of solar projects across the country.</p>
