					</table><p>Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (<a href="https://www.nmmc.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NMMC</a>) has invited bids to develop a 100 MW floating solar project and a 1.5 MW hydroelectric project at Morbe Dam in the Raigad district of Maharashtra.</p>
<p>The last day to submit the bids is April 2, 2024. Bids will be opened on the next day.</p>
<p>Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹25 million (~$300,128).</p>
<p>The selected bidder must submit ₹325 million (~$3.9 million) as performance security.</p>
<p>The declared capacity utilization factor for the floating solar project should not be less than 19% annually and not more than 30% for the hydroelectric project.</p>
<p>The floating solar project will be implemented in 60 MW and 40 MW phases.</p>
<p>The required electricity generation per annum will be 10.80 million units (MU) from hydroelectric projects and 208.8 MU (125.28 MU Phase 1 and 83.52 MU Phase 2) from the floating solar project.</p>
<p>The projects must achieve financial closure within 210 days from the power purchase agreement&#8217;s signing date.</p>
<p>The hydroelectric project&#8217;s commercial operation date (CoD) should be 18 months from the date of financial closure. The CoD for Phase 1 of the floating solar project should be within 12 months from the date of financial closure. The CoD for Phase 2 of the floating solar project should be 12 months from the CoD of Phase 1 or 12 months from the order for the next phase issued by NMMC, whichever is earlier.</p>
<p>Bidders should have completed at least three projects, each with a minimum capacity of 40 MW, at least two projects, each with a minimum capacity of 50 MW, or one project with a minimum capacity of 80 MW for government, public sector or private sector organizations during last ten years.</p>
<p>Bidders who have completed a single project with a total capacity of 100 MW, including multiple packages, phases, contracts, or agreements, at one location can also participate.</p>
<p>They should have a net worth equal to or greater than ₹1.65 billion (~$19.8 million) as of March 31, 2023.</p>
<p>Modules used should be included in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy&#8217;s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.</p>
<p>In December, THDC India <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/thdc-issues-solar-projects-in-maharashtra" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids from consultants and expert agencies to create a feasibility report to set up floating solar power projects on reservoirs in Maharashtra.</p>

Navi Mumbai Corporation Invites Bids for 100 MW Floating Solar Project

					</table><p>City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (<a href="https://cidco.maharashtra.gov.in/404#gsc.tab=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CIDCO</a>) has invited expressions of interest (EoI) from developers to install 3.41 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems atop CBD Belapur railway station and its parking lot in Navi Mumbai under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The systems will be built under a gross-metering arrangement.</p>
<p>The selected bidder will be responsible for installing 1.06 MW rooftop solar capacity at the CBD (Central Business District) Belapur station and 2.35 MW at the station’s parking lot.</p>
<p>The work must be completed within 18 months of receiving the work order. The developer must enter into a power purchase agreement with CIDCO and will be required to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance for 25 years.</p>
<p>The last day to submit the bids is November 17, 2022.</p>
<p>The selected developer will be responsible for the survey, designing, financing, procurement or manufacturing, installation, testing, commissioning, and grid connection of the project for the contracted capacity and supply of power. CIDCO will provide support to get approval for the interconnection point with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company.</p>
<p>To be eligible, bidders must have previously installed one rooftop solar system of 2.7 MW or above in a single contract in the last five years, of which at least 1.3 MW should be grid-connected.</p>
<p>Developers can participate in the bid if they have installed two rooftop systems of  1.7 MW or above in a single contract during the last five years, of which at least 800 kW should be grid-connected.</p>
<p>Alternatively, developers will be eligible to submit bids if they have installed three rooftop solar systems of  1.3 MW or above in a single contract during the last five years, of which at least 600 kW should be grid-connected. All the reference projects should have been operational during the last twelve months.</p>
<p>Bidders must have had a net worth of ₹40 million (~$485,702) in the last financial year. They should have been profitable during the last three financial years ending March 31, 2022, and must have an average annual turnover of ₹95 million (~$1.15 million).</p>
<p>Earlier, CIDCO had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/bids-1-24-mw-rooftop-solar-systems-maharashtra/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up 1.24 MW of rooftop solar systems under the net metering arrangement atop selected railway station buildings and bridges in Navi Mumbai under the PPP model.</p>

<p>The selected developer will be responsible for the survey, designing, financing, procurement or manufacturing, installation, testing, commissioning, and grid synchronizing of the project for the contracted capacity and supply of power.</p>
<p>The rooftop system should be connected to the grid through a service connection. The surplus energy will be fed into the grid under the net metering program at the respective interconnection points of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company before the scheduled commissioning date.</p>
<p>To be eligible, bidders must have installed one rooftop solar system of 1,000 kW or above in a single contract in the last five years, of which at least 500 kW should be grid-connected.</p>
<p>They can also bid if they had installed two rooftop systems of 600 kW or above in a single contract during the last five years, of which at least 300 kW should be grid-connected.</p>
<p>Alternatively, they can participate in the tender if they have installed three rooftop solar systems of 500 kW or above in a single contract during the last five years, of which at least 250 kW should be grid-connected. All the reference projects should have been operational during the last twelve months.</p>
<p>Bidders must have had a net worth of ₹13 million (~$157,875) in the last financial year. They should have been profitable during the last three financial years ending March 31, 2022. Bidders must have an average annual turnover of ₹30 million (~$364,318).</p>
<p>Earlier this month, CIDCO <a href="https://mercomindia.com/bids-invited-4-18-mw-rooftop-solar-maharashtra/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up 4.18 MW of rooftop solar systems under the gross metering arrangement at various locations on its properties in Navi Mumbai under the PPP model.</p>

Bids Invited for 1.24 MW of Rooftop Solar Systems in Maharashtra

<p><a href="http://magentaevsolutions.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Magenta Power</a>, a renewable energy solutions provider, has partnered with Exicom to install a solar-based DC charging station for electric vehicles (EV) in Turbhe, Navi Mumbai.</p>
<p>The charging station called Magenta Charging Station- 3 has chargers which are powered by solar and are also grid-connected. This makes the entire four-wheeler charging eco-system independent of fossil fuel.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is our first solar based EV charging station, which is also India&#8217;s first such station,&#8221; news agency PTI quoted Magenta Power CEO Maxson Lewis as saying.</p>
<p>“Solar panels and electric vehicles are the perfect match that are certainly going to play a key role in the energy system of the next 25 years. As the nation moves towards clean and affordable power for all, it is our attempt to provide customers with the best solutions for a greener tomorrow,” Lewis added.</p>
<p>Considering that electric vehicle charging stations will see an encouraging growth in India in the coming years, the company plans to set up 100 charging stations at various locations in Mumbai for easier adoption of electric vehicles.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/ministry-of-power-no-license-ev-charge-station/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Recently, the Ministry of Power</a> issued a clarification that no license is required to operate EV charging stations in India. Initially, the industry and stakeholders believed a license is needed to develop and operate an EV charging station in India.</p>
<p>The domestic EV market is emerging out of its nascent stage. Along with the surge of EV tenders in the country, the EV charging segment has also witnessed a spike. Of late, various companies have also started setting up their charging stations across the country to make EVs more convenient and popular.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/tata-power-ev-charging-stations-mumbai/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In January 2018</a>, <a href="https://www.tatapower.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tata Power</a> announced new additions to its strategic network of EV charging stations at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and the Western Express highway at Borivali.</p>
<p>Previously, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/ntpc-seeks-pan-india-license-set-ev-charging-stations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mercom reported</a> that NTPC was seeking a pan-India license to construct and set up EV charging stations across the country. In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/ntpc-tender-ev-charging-jabalpur/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">March 2018</a>, NTPC also issued a tender for the development of EV charging infrastructure in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>Recently, Mercom also reported that <a href="http://ntpc.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC</a> announced the installation of an EV charging station at Talcher Super Thermal Power Station in the state of Odisha. The charging station would cater to the needs of the EVs owned by the company as well as its employees.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/bescom-ev-charging-stations-bengaluru/">Similarly</a>, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (<a href="https://bescom.org/en/pay-bill/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BESCOM</a>) also came up with the announcement that it will launch fast EV charging stations in Bangalore.</p>
<p>The government is currently targeting sales of 6-7 million new hybrid and electric vehicles by 2020 under the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (<a href="https://mercomindia.com/electric-vehicles-opportunity-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NEMMP</a>).</p>
<p>Electric Vehicle sales in the country are expected to grow in the <a href="https://mercomindia.com/assocham-report-ev-infrastructure/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">double digits</a> until the year 2020, according to a joint report by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (<a href="http://www.assocham.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ASSOCHAM</a>) and global advisory firm <a href="http://www.ey.com/gl/en/services/advisory/advisory---home" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EY</a>.</p>
