Array Technologies has <a href="http://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2020/11/30/2136705/0/en/UPDATE-Array-Technologies-announces-a-1GW-purchase-agreement-with-RP-Construction-Services.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">entered</a> into an agreement with RP Construction Services (RPCS) to supply 1 GW of single-axis solar trackers. RPCS provides design-build services for small and medium-sized ground-mounted solar energy projects across the United States. The company said the small-utility, municipal, medium-sized commercial, and community solar markets are proliferating, and its collaboration with RP Construction Services to address this segment of the market could accelerate the company&#8217;s growth in the U.S.
REC Group, a Norway-based renewable energy company, has <a href="https://www.recgroup.com/en/news/rec-group-files-patent-infringement-lawsuit-against-hanwha-q-cells" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">filed</a> a patent infringement lawsuit against Hanwha Solutions Corporation and Hanwha Q Cells USA in the US District Court for the District of Delaware on November 30, 2020. The patent-in-suit was granted in the United States in August 2020 and is related to REC Group&#8217;s split cell and junction box technology.
ReneSola Power has <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/renesola-power-inks-solar-plus-storage-power-purchase-agreement-with-valley-clean-energy-301182256.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">signed</a> a 20-year power purchase agreement for a solar and battery system with Valley Clean Energy. The project is located in Madison, Yolo County of California in the U.S. The project will add 20 MW of solar power and 6.5 MW/26 MWh of battery energy storage to the Northern California grid to serve Valley Clean Energy’s consumers. The project is expected to begin its commercial operation by the third quarter of 2022.
Asunim and I-KWh have <a href="https://www.asunim.co/asunim-i-kwh-joins-elsewedy-electric-on-a-utility-scale-pv-storage-project-in-south-sudan-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">formed</a> a consulting consortium that supports Elsewedy Electric T&amp;D (EETD) to implement a large-scale solar photovoltaic system and provide renewable energy to South Sudan. EETD recently bagged a contract to develop a 20 MW solar project with 35 MW of storage facility in Juba, South Sudan. The project is expected to produce 29 GWh of clean energy annually.
The Government of Western Australia has <a href="https://www.wa.gov.au/service/environment/environment-information-services/electric-vehicle-strategy" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">unveiled</a> its “Electric Vehicle Strategy” in preparation for the transition to low and zero-emission electric vehicles. The state government will invest $21 million to support the plan. As a part of the electric vehicle strategy, the government is backing the development of an electric vehicle charging infrastructure and achieve a minimum 25% electric vehicle target for new light and small passenger and small and medium sports utility vehicle (SUV) fleet of the government by 2025-26.
Kearsarge Energy has <a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20201201005531/en/ENGIE-EPS-Wins-a-New-Project-in-The-US/?feedref=JjAwJuNHiystnCoBq_hl-bV7DTIYheT0D-1vT4_bKFzt_EW40VMdK6eG-WLfRGUE1fJraLPL1g6AeUGJlCTYs7Oafol48Kkc8KJgZoTHgMu0w8LYSbRdYOj2VdwnuKwa" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">selected</a> ENGIE EPS for the supply of a 10 MWh energy storage system for a solar plus storage project in Bellingham, Massachusetts, United States. The solar plus storage project was awarded to Kearsarge Energy in a competitive solicitation by the town of Bellingham. The project is expected to be online in mid-2021.
The United Kingdom&#8217;s Office of Gas and Electricity Markets has <a href="https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/winners-2020-network-innovation-competition-help-drive-net-zero" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">awarded</a> up to £58 million (~$ 77.45 million) to five pioneering projects in the 2020 Network Innovation Competition to help support the transition to a net-zero emissions economy at the lowest cost to consumers. The five pioneering projects include a 100% &#8216;green hydrogen&#8217; network trail for 300 households in Fife, Scotland, to use hydrogen to cook and heat their homes instead of gas. Electricity projects that have secured funding aim to boost the grid&#8217;s flexibility to better manage more intermittent renewable generation and surges in demand as well as its capacity.
