<p>Renewable energy project developer Azure Power has emerged as the winner in the recent auction held by Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (<a href="http://oredaodisha.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">OREDA</a>) for the development of 6 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Koraput, located in the state of Odisha.</p>
<p>Azure Power had quoted a tariff of ₹3.13 (~$0.0433)/kWh to develop the 6 MW grid-connected solar PV project.</p>
<p>When contacted, an OREDA official said, “We are very satisfied with the result of this auction. We had tendered this solar PV project on behalf of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).”</p>
<p>The OREDA official further added that the contract will be awarded soon after final formalities are completed.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/oreda-tenders-6mw-solar-for-hal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">June 2018</a>, OREDA had tendered the 6 MW grid-connected solar PV project on behalf of HAL in Koraput, Odisha.</p>
<p>The 6 MW grid-connected solar PV project will be developed over a land area of approximately 30 acres within the estate area of HAL, located in Odisha’s Koraput division at Sunabeda. HAL, Koraput division will enter into power purchase agreement (PPA) for the purchase of solar power from the selected developer at the lowest (L1) tariff for a period of 25 years.</p>
<p>The power generated from the project will help fulfil HAL’s power requirement and is a step towards the company’s target of installing 50 MW renewable energy.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/hal-grid-connected-rooftop-solar-lucknow/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">January 2018</a>,  Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (<a href="http://www.uperc.org/Default2.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UPERC</a>) gave its go-ahead to <a href="http://www.hal-india.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HAL</a> to begin the development of a 4 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar PV project in the city of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/dec-262016-hindustan-aeronautics-limited-commissions-3-5-mw-solar-project-bengaluru/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">December 2016</a>, HAL also commissioned a 3.5 MW solar PV project in Bengaluru for captive consumption.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/oreda-tenders-off-grid-solar-projects-odisha/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Last year</a>, OREDA tendered off-grid solar projects from 1 kW to 30 kW with different battery bank capacities to be developed across Odisha.</p>
