					</table><p><a href="https://safearth.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SafEarth</a>, an India-based technology platform for renewable energy transition, has completed a funding round of ₹35 million ($426,755) to support the company’s product development initiatives and expansion into new industrial belts across the country.</p>
<p>The funding round was led by<a href="https://anthillventures.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Anthill Ventures</a>, <a href="https://www.third-derivative.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Third Derivative</a>, and <a href="https://www.mumbaiangels.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mumbai Angels</a>.</p>
<p>SafEarth is an energy transition platform assisting commercial and industrial (C&amp;I) consumers in evaluating solar transition options and savings.</p>
<p>The company said it has helped industries shift from thermal power to solar energy at scale and has facilitated over 100 industrial solar projects, with a deployed capacity of 171 MW and saving over 300,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.</p>

The recent funding round not only validates our mission but also empowers us to accelerate product development and expand our reach to new industrial belts across India.&#8221;</p>
<p>The company said the platform&#8217;s marketplace offers a streamlined, clean energy procurement process for industries, reducing time by 50%, cost by 10%, and eliminating errors. This efficiency translates into over 20% increased project returns for businesses.</p>
<p>Solar Flow, the platform&#8217;s project management automation tool, ensures efficient implementation and quality assurance, boasting a 0% project failure rate.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Solar Flow monitors real-time electricity consumption, providing recommendations for cost reduction and long-term sustainable savings.</p>
<p>The company has collaborated with industry giants such as <a href="https://www.everestind.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Everest Industries</a>,<a href="https://www.atherenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Ather Energy</a>, and <a href="https://www.mondelezinternational.com/India" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mondelez India</a>.</p>
<p>SafEarth attests its platform has generated business worth over ₹8 billion (~$97.5 million) for solar installers, reinforcing its impact on the renewable energy ecosystem.</p>
<p>Mercom recently <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/karnatakas-ci-power-costs-with-open-access-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on how an increasing number of C&amp;I consumers in Karnataka are opting for open access solar, considering the lucrative savings in power costs and favorable policies.</p>

Renewable Energy Transition Platform SafEarth Secures ₹35 Million Funding

<p>Reliance Industries Limited has issued an expression of interest for the procurement of renewable energy under a short-term basis from April 1, 2019, to March 31, 2020.</p>
<p>The company intends to procure 55 MW of solar power and 90 MW from other renewable power sources for its various industries in Gujarat and Maharashtra.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is March 25, 2019.</p>
<p>According to the EoI document- “Successful bidder will be responsible for getting all the requisite open access permissions as per the latest open access guidelines and will be responsible for day to day scheduling of the energy.”</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/reliance-buys-88-percent-stake-kanoda/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Recently</a>, Mercom reported that in a Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) filing, Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Limited (RIIHL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, announced that it has entered into a binding agreement with Kanoda Energy Systems Private Limited (KESL) for the acquisition of equity shares for a cash consideration not exceeding ₹750 million (~$10.8 million).</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/vedanta-eoi-odisha-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In January 2019</a>, <a href="http://vedantaaluminium.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vedanta Limited</a>,  a diversified natural resources company, had invited  Expression of Interest for the procurement of solar power under short or medium term basis from solar power generators, state electricity boards, and utilities, independent power producers and traders.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/mumbai-metro-rooftop-solar-commissioned/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In December 2018</a>, Mumbai Metro One, promoted by Reliance Infrastructure, commissioned a 612-kW rooftop solar power installation at its D.N. Nagar depot, located in Andheri West.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/ntpc-reliance-ev-charging-station/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In May 2018</a>, Reliance Energy announced that the company had commissioned Mumbai’s first Bharat EV protocol compliant DC fast charging station on the company’s premises for its fleet of vehicles.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/reliance-money-secures-loan-from-ireda/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In October 2017</a>, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency provided a loan to the tune of ₹3 billion (~$45.7 million) to Reliance Money, a brand by Reliance Commercial Finance Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Capital Limited, for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.</p>
