					</table><p><a href="https://www.hcgoncology.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Healthcare Global Enterprises Limited</a> (HCG), which runs cancer care centers among other health facilities, has installed a 2.25 MW solar power project in Jagaluru village in the Davanagere district of Karnataka.</p>
<p>HCG will save up to ₹42 million (~$514,266) in energy costs annually with the solar installation. The project will generate 104 million units (MU) of power over 25 years and cut carbon emissions by around 76,200 metric tons during the period.</p>
<p>HCG currently has 22 cancer centers across India and Africa. With the installation of the above solar plant, it aims to adopt greener measures in its operations and achieve net zero emissions in the years ahead.</p>
<p>HCG said in a statement that the solar project will help reduce the energy expenditure at two of its hospitals in the state by at least 70%.</p>
<p>HCG plans to implement the initiative across all centers in other regions under phase II of the project.</p>
<p>Executive Chairman of HCG B S Ajaikumar observed, “Maintaining our planet’s ecosystems is imperative for creating a healthier world for the coming generations, and what better sector than healthcare to recognize the criticality of this need! HCG is happy to steer this landmark solar-powered sustainability initiative across our network which will undoubtedly make a lasting contribution to our healthcare sustainability goals and objectives.”</p>
<p>Mumbai-based renewable energy company CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Private Limited (<a href="https://www.cleanmax.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CleanMax</a>) has implemented this project. The company is also responsible for the project’s operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, and construction services.</p>
<p>In September this year, CleanMax <a href="https://mercomindia.com/upl-cleanmax-develop-61-mw-wind-solar-hybrid-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> a joint venture with UPL, a provider of sustainable solutions for agriculture, to establish a 61.05 MW wind-solar hybrid power plant in Gujarat. The captive power plant comprises 28.05 MW of solar and 33 MW of wind power systems which will help reduce 125,000 tons of carbon emissions every year.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, Tata Memorial Center <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tata-memorial-1-mw-solar-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a tender for a 1 MW grid-connected solar power project at Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Punjab’s Mohali. The estimated cost of the project was ₹42.1 million (~$566,354).</p>
