<p>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:</p>
<p><strong>United-Kingdom based oil giant bp and Microsoft have </strong><a href="https://news.microsoft.com/2020/09/15/bp-and-microsoft-form-strategic-partnership-to-drive-digital-energy-innovation-and-advance-net-zero-goals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>agreed</strong></a><strong> to collaborate to develop new technology innovations and digital solutions to help meet their sustainability goals.</strong> Microsoft also signed a framework agreement with bp for renewable energy projects to power its data centers. bp will supply renewable energy to Microsoft across several countries and regions, including the United States, Europe, and Latin America. It also extended its agreement to utilize the Microsoft Azure cloud service platform to digitalize its infrastructure and operation.</p>
<p><strong>Singapore LNG Corporation has </strong><a href="https://www.slng.com.sg/website/content.aspx?mmi=60&amp;smi=61&amp;sdmi=&amp;pr=1&amp;prid=199" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>signed</strong></a><strong> an agreement with Total Solar Distributed Generation (DG) to install a rooftop solar project at Singapore LNG Terminal on Jurong Island. </strong>According to the agreement, Total Solar DG will finance, build, and operate a 600 kW rooftop solar project which will be installed on several buildings of the terminal. The project is expected to be completed by Q4 2020. The project will generate 800 MW of clean energy while reducing 300 tons of carbon dioxide annually.</p>
<p><strong>U.S.-based Duke University has executed a renewable power agreement under Duke Energy&#8217;s Green Source Advantage program – further expanding solar energy in North Carolina.</strong> According to the agreement, Duke University will purchase around 101 MW of solar power from three solar facilities in  North Carolina. The university will partner with Asheville and Pine Gate Renewables to build the solar projects, which are being developed in partnership with Silver Pine Energy Holdings. The projects will be online by 2022.</p>
<p><strong>Okaya, an energy storage solution provider, has </strong><a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/okaya-bags-order-from-bhel-for-power-storage-systems-5843121.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>secured</strong></a><strong> an order from Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) to supply, installation, and commissioning of power storage systems at three locations in Delhi.</strong> The company will deploy 410 kW of lithium-ion based battery energy storage system in Delhi for the project of The Energy Resource Institute (TERI).</p>
<p><strong>Walmart Corporation has </strong><a href="https://corporate.walmart.com/newsroom/2020/09/10/walmart-and-schneider-electric-announce-groundbreaking-collaboration-to-help-suppliers-access-renewable-energy" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> a new collaboration with Schneider Electric to help suppliers access renewable energy.</strong> The new partnership will provide increased access to renewable energy for Walmart&#8217;s U.S.-based suppliers, enabling them to lean on climate action. The Gigaton PPA Program is designed to educate Walmart suppliers about renewable energy purchases and enhance its adoption through an aggregate power purchase agreement. The program support Walmart&#8217;s Project Gigaton, which aims to reduce one gigaton of carbon dioxide emissions from its global value chain by 2030.</p>
<p><strong>Enphase Energy, a solar microinverter provider, </strong><a href="https://newsroom.enphase.com/news-releases/news-release-details/enphase-energy-microinverters-power-innovative-minneapolis" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>said</strong></a><strong> that its Enphase IQ 7+ microinverters had been deployed by All Energy Solar in a unique building-face-mounted solar array in Minneapolis, Minn.</strong> All Energy Star designed and installed the 208 VAC, three-phase solar system to provide clean solar energy to the MoZaic East commercial building to complement its LEED gold certification.</p>
<p><strong>The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria has </strong><a href="https://balkangreenenergynews.com/bulgaria-to-add-2-65-gw-of-renewables-capacity-by-2030/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> its plan for sustainable energy development until 2030.</strong> According to the plan, the net electricity production capacity will increase by 12% and reach 13.9 GW in 2030 as the production from renewable energy sources will increase by 59%. Significant growth in the net production capacity of renewable energy sources is expected, which will be around 11.6 GW in 2050 compared to 6.67 GW in 2030, an increase of 73.3%.</p>
