<p>The Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (<a href="http://kredlinfo.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">KREDL</a>) has tendered 1,200 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects to be developed in the Pavagada Solar Park, in Karnataka’s Tumkur district. The bid-submission deadline is February 21, 2018.</p>
<p>The projects will be developed in blocks of 50 MW each and will be spread over 253 acres. The projects will be connected to dedicated substations being developed by the Karnataka Solar Power Development Corporation Limited (KSPDCL).</p>
<p>Mercom <a href="https://mercomindia.com/pavagada-solar-park-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">previously reported</a> that the Pavagada Solar Park is built on 13,000 acres of land and that the development is expected to cost ₹144.25 billion (~$2.22 billion).</p>
<p>A single bidder can bid for a minimum 50 MW and a maximum 1,200 MW of grid-connected solar PV projects. The projects will be developed on a build own, and operate basis and the power generated will be sold to state Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) in Karnataka under 25-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and operation of the projects.</p>
<p>KREDL’s tender announcement is in tandem with the infrastructure development at the park. Mercom <a href="https://mercomindia.com/karnatakas-pavagada-solar-park-stands-tall/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">previously reported</a> that the development of transmission infrastructure at the Pavagada Solar Park picked up speed after initial delays.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/kredl-tenders-large-scale-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">December 2017</a>, Mercom reported that KREDL had issued a tender for allotment of 860 MW (20 MW x 43 Taluks) of grid-connected solar projects in 43 selected taluks in Karnataka and the bid submission deadline was January 8, 2018.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/kredl-retenders-solar-pavagada-solar-park/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">November 2017</a>, the KREDL had tendered 200 MW of solar to be developed at Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka.</p>
<p>According to Mercom’s <a href="https://mercomindia.com/product/india-solar-project-tracker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">India Solar Project Tracker</a>, in the first phase of Pavagada Solar Park, 600 MW was auctioned in 2016 under the National Solar Mission (NSM) Phase-II, Batch 2 and is likely to be completed soon.</p>
