<p>Military Engineering Services (<a href="https://mes.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MES</a>) has floated a tender for solar LED lights, LED fittings, and other fixtures at various Indian Coast Guard Station (ICGS) premises in Gujarat.</p>
<p>The MES is a government-owned defense infrastructure development agency for settling armed forces across the country.</p>
<p>The project is expected to cost ₹4.45 million (~$59,017) and must be completed within six months. The last date for submission of bids is June 8, 2020. Interested bidders are expected to pay an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹89,000 (~$1,180).</p>
<p>The scope of work includes providing solar streetlights at the Coast Guard district headquarters at Porbandar, and solar LED lights, LED fittings, modular switches, and fixtures at ICGS Vadinar.</p>
<p>To be eligible to take part in the competitive bidding process, applicants who are not enlisted with the MES must have prior experience in undertaking two similar projects worth at least ₹2.5 million (~$33,155) or one project worth over ₹4 million (~$53,049). Alternatively, they must have an average annual turnover of ₹5 million (~$66,311) in the last two financial years.</p>
<p>They must also be solvent up to ₹2 million (~$26,524) or financially sound for a financial engagement up to ₹5 million (~$66,311), with working capital of at least ₹750,000 (~$9,946). Bidders and contractors who are enlisted with the MES must be rated class ‘D’ or above.</p>
<p>Recently, Mercom <a href="https://mercomindia.com/mes-tender-solar-indian-navy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported</a> that the MES also invited bids for off-grid solar electric supply to LED pathway lights for the Indian Navy in Vasco. The estimated cost of the project is ₹1.16 million (~$15,469), and the period of completion is 180 days. The output power of the system should be 8 kW.</p>
<p>Earlier, MES <a href="https://mercomindia.com/military-engineer-services-tender-rooftop-solar-tamil-nadu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">issued</a> a tender for a 500 kW rooftop solar power project at Indian Naval Air Station at Rajali in Tamil Nadu. The estimated cost of the project is ₹27.5 million (~$386,881). The period of completion was divided into five phases, where each phase comprises 12 months.</p>
<p>Previously, MES had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/military-engineering-services-tenders-1-mw-solar-project-goa/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">tendered</a> a 1 MW solar project to be developed at GE Panaji, Goa. The scope of work included design, engineering, supply, erection, installation, and commissioning of the project.</p>
