					</table><p>The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (<a href="https://www.bsh.de/DE/Home/home_node.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BSH</a>) has published the area development plan 2023 aimed at helping Germany achieve its target of expanding offshore wind energy to 30 GW by 2030.</p>
<p>The plan includes mappings for deploying wind turbines in the North and Baltic Seas, where the country sees immense potential for offshore wind.</p>
<p>BSH has defined specific areas in the exclusive economic zone of the North Sea and Baltic Sea where the upcoming wind farms will be erected.</p>
<p>The agency said it is also implementing the tasks from the offshore implementation agreement signed between the federal government, the states, and the transmission system operators last November.</p>
<p>The plan determines how and when these areas will be tendered while listing guidelines for the connection of the future wind farms to the onshore power grid. The plan also regulates the technical principles for these connection lines.</p>
<p>“With the early implementation of the increased offshore expansion targets in the area development plan, the BSH is making an important contribution to the accelerated energy transition. At the same time, the update of the technical plan ensures the upcoming ambitious expansion of offshore wind energy and the necessary coordination with the grid connection,&#8221; said Nico Nolte, the head of the Order of the Sea Department at the BSH.</p>
<p>The BSH plan will further support the European Commission’s <a href="https://mercomindia.com/european-commission-plans-offshore-wind/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">target</a> to increase Europe&#8217;s total offshore wind capacity up to 60 GW by the end of the decade and 300 GW by 2050. To help achieve the European Union’s climate neutrality goals, the Commission proposes the additional capacity enhancement of ocean energy among other emerging technologies, particularly floating wind and solar.</p>
<p>In December 2022, the European Commission also <a href="https://mercomindia.com/european-commission-approves-germanys-plan-renewables/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> the amendment to a German government’s program called Renewable Energy Act 2023, which aims to extend and modify the nation’s support of clean energy. Under the program, Germany has introduced an effective volume control mechanism to encourage innovation in tenders that will be invited to develop rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects along with onshore wind and biomethane projects.</p>

<p><strong>Microsoft Corporation, Planet Labs PBC, and The Nature Conservancy </strong><a href="https://news.microsoft.com/2022/09/22/microsoft-planet-and-the-nature-conservancy-launch-the-global-renewables-watch/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> plans to launch the Global Renewables Watch (GRW), a first-of-its-kind living atlas intended to map </strong>and measure all utility-scale solar and wind installations on earth using artificial intelligence (AI) and satellite imagery, allowing users to evaluate clean energy transition progress and track trends over time. With the initial mapping of solar and wind energy installations in Germany and India and solar installations in Brazil and Egypt completed, the GRW is being built to serve as a publicly available renewable energy atlas with country-by-country insights into production progress and development trends. The first full global inventory is expected to be completed by early 2023, at which point the results will undergo scientific and technical validation. For this joint program, Microsoft is providing AI and platform technology, Planet is contributing the underlying satellite imagery, and The Nature Conservancy is overlaying the subject-matter expertise to analyze the output.</p>
<p><a href="https://goldisolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Goldi Solar</strong></a><strong>, a solar module manufacturer, announced plans to infuse over ₹50 billion (~$613 million) as a part of its business expansion plans. </strong>The company also unveiled its new product offering HELOC̣ Plus, a 710 W module series with heterojunction technology (HJT). Goldi Solar plans to commence production at its cell manufacturing unit in Gujarat and expand its capacity to 5 GW.</p>
<p><strong>Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (</strong><a href="https://www.dewa.gov.ae/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>DEWA</strong></a><strong>) issued an expression of interest to select a suitable developer to build and operate a new 900 MW solar photovoltaic power project, Phase VI,</strong> within the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The project will be developed on an Independent Power Project basis and is expected to be commissioned in phases starting in the third quarter of 2025. DEWA will purchase the power generated from the project under a long-term power purchase agreement. The last date to submit the bids is October 10, 2022.</p>
<p><strong>Minister of State for the Ministry of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh </strong><a href="https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1861671" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the launch of the “Innovation Roadmap of the Mission Integrated Biorefineries” developed by co-leads and active</strong> inputs from Brazil, Canada, the European Commission, and the UK at the Global Clean Energy Action Forum-2022 at Pittsburgh, in the United States. The mission aims at greater international collaboration and the need for increased financing for energy research, development, and demonstration during the next five years through public-private investment</p>
<p><strong>Baltic Power Sp. z o.o, a joint venture between PKN Orlen and Northland Power, </strong><a href="https://www.vestas.com/en/media/company-news/2022/vestas-selected-as-preferred-supplier-for-the-1-2-gw-ba-c3636425" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>chose</strong></a><strong> Vestas as the preferred turbine supplier for Poland&#8217;s 1.2 GW Baltic Power Offshore Wind Project.</strong> Vestas will provide 76 V236-15.0 MW turbines for the Baltic Power project, located 23 kilometers off the Polish Baltic Sea shoreline coast near Łeba. Once completed, this would be the largest wind project in Poland.</p>
<p><strong>EnerVenue, a metal-hydrogen battery company, </strong><a href="https://enervenue.com/enervenue-announces-250-mwh-master-supply-agreement-with-green-energy-renewable-solutions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> a master supply agreement with Green Energy Renewable Solutions, under which Green Energy will procure and deploy 250 </strong>MWh of EnerVenue’s storage solution over the next three years. Green Energy will leverage EnerVenue battery vessels to support Nicon’s innovative renewable energy and storage projects. The master supply agreement is expected to deliver 50 MWh in 2023, 100 MWh in 2024, and 100 MWh in 2025. Green Energy will package EnerVenue battery vessels into customized building blocks for projects across Nicon’s onshore and offshore project portfolio.</p>
