<p>Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (<a href="http://www.reiljp.com/indexE.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">REIL</a>), a public-sector enterprise operating in the electronics, information technology, and renewable energy segment, has issued a tender to set up 270 electric vehicles (EVs) charging equipment across various locations in the country. The bid submission deadline is March 15, 2019.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes installing 70 normal AC chargers, 170 DC fast chargers, and 30 DC fast chargers with 100 kW charging stations in the cities of Ranchi, Bengaluru, Goa, Shimla, Hyderabad, Agra as well as on the Delhi-Jaipur-Agra and Mumbai-Pune highways.</p>
<p>The successful bidder will provide comprehensive maintenance services for a period of five years from the date of installation. According to REIL, quarterly preventive maintenance of EV charging station will also be carried out by the bidders to ensure satisfactory operation of the system.</p>
<p>REIL has made it mandatory for the bidders to open an authorized service center equipped with a qualified workforce and required spares at all locations before the supply and installation of the EV charging system.</p>
<p>The successful bidders need to get the samples for the first lot to be type-tested under REIL supervision at an ARAI /NABL/ILAC-accredited third-party laboratory. The samples for such tests would be identified by REIL and cost of the sample and shipping has to be borne by the bidder.</p>
<p>During the contract duration, at bidder’s cost, REIL will also conduct additional type tests at ARAI- accredited laboratory to maintain its check on the supplied product. The random sample for such tests would be identified by REIL and can be from the manufacturing/supply chain or customer facility.</p>
<p>As the country is gearing up for an EV transformation, an increasing number of agencies have issued tenders for EV chargers. <a href="https://mercomindia.com/four-companies-eesl-tender-ev-chargers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Last year</a>, Energy Efficiency Services Limited finalized procurement of a total 2,000 EV chargers from SBD Green Energy and Infra India, Exicom, BHEL, and Delta Power Solutions. The firms will supply 1,800 AC chargers of 3.3 kW and 200 DC Fast Chargers of 15 kW to be deployed across various locations in the country. The chargers will be used to power TATA Tigor and Mahindra e-Verito cars procured by EESL.</p>
