<p>Indian solar power solutions provider <a href="http://www.korenergy.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KOR Energy</a> announced that it is preparing to develop 2.8 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects for industrial customers in Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>The company will develop the capacity at four separate project sites. One project calls for a 1.2 MW rooftop solar installation at Apollo Metalax Ltd. in the Secunderabad Industrial Area of Bulandshahr, while another involves the installation of a 1.2 MW rooftop solar project at Apollo Pipes Ltd.’s plant in the Dadri Industrial Area of Gautam Budh Nagar.</p>
<p>A smaller, 200 kW rooftop project will be installed at the industrial shed of KV Aromatics Pvt. Ltd. in Greater Noida, while another 200 kW rooftop system will be placed at Hindustan Mint Private Ltd. in Chandausi, Moradabad.</p>
<p>KOR Energy will utilize REC Solar’s twin peak modules and ABB Inverters to develop the projects, according to a report by Asia News International (ANI). “These projects will further help us consolidate our presence in Uttar Pradesh and also our contribution towards the overall green energy mission,” said Sushil Kumar Sarawgi, director of KOR Energy.</p>
<p>The country’s <a href="https://mercomindia.com/power-tariffs-policy-rooftop-market/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the installation numbers</a> are gradually rising even though rooftop solar has not yet made its way into the life of the average Indian residential electricity consumer. The increase in rooftop solar installations is instead being driven by the growing number of commercial, industrial, and government facilities that are using rooftop solar as a way to reduce their electricity bills.</p>
<p>Projects designed for captive consumption have been driving the bulk of growth in the sector. A spate of rooftop solar tenders has been announced by various organizations that are vying to bring down their electricity bills and curb their emissions. Be it colleges, upcoming Smart Cities, railways, airports, ports, or manufacturing units, all of these entities are finding it advantageous to make a one-time investment in a rooftop solar system to meet their energy demands.</p>
