					</table><p>Central Mine Planning &amp; Design Institute (<a href="https://www.cmpdi.co.in/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CMPDI</a>), a subsidiary of <a href="https://www.coalindia.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coal India</a>, has invited bids for the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and testing of grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 13 MW.</p>
<p>These projects are intended for Central Coalfields Ranchi at NK Area Chatra, Jharkhand, and come with a five-year operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) period.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is March 28, 2024. Bids will be opened the same day.</p>
<p>Work should commence within 30 days of the issuance of the letter of acceptance and the submission of the performance security.</p>
<p>Alternatively, the work should begin within seven days after the site is handed over for the first activity.</p>
<p>Bidders have to pay ₹5 million (~$60,391) as an earnest money deposit.</p>
<p>The total contract period spans 2,065 days and consists of two main phases:</p>
<ul>
<li>Construction of the plant, including testing and commissioning, is allocated 240 days.</li>
<li>The comprehensive operation and maintenance of the plant will be for 1,825 days.</li>
</ul>
<p>Bidders must have completed similar works, specifically related to the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and testing of grid-connected ground-mounted, rooftop, or floating solar projects.</p>
<p>They must have completed three similar completed works, each with a cost not less than 20% of the estimated cost put to tender, or two similar completed works, each with a cost not less than 25% of the estimated cost put to tender or, one similar completed work, with a cost not less than 40% of the estimated cost put to tender.</p>
<p>The average annual financial turnover during the last three years, ending March 31, 2023, should be at least 30% of the estimated cost put to tender.</p>
<p>Bidders must provide a certificate confirming the possession of sufficient working capital, which should be at least 20% of the annualized value or estimated value, whichever is less of the specified work.</p>
<p>This working capital should include access to lines of credit and the availability of other financial resources necessary to meet the project requirements.</p>
<p>In August last year, CMPDI <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/coal-india-solar-project-in-jharkhand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to implement a grid-connected 8.5 MW solar project for Central Coalfields.</p>

EVs accounted for 7.3% of overall automobile sales, according to data released by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways through its Vahan Dashboard. India has over 2.7 million registered EVs as of September 2023.</p>
<p><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/nhpc-epc-tender-40-mw-solar-project-odisha/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>NHPC invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 40 MW solar power project along with the associated transmission line for connectivity at the 220 kV transmission system of the Odisha Power Transmission Corporation in the Ganjam district.</strong></a> The successful bidder must also oversee the project’s operation and maintenance for five years. The last date to submit the bids online is November 10, 2023. Bids will be opened on November 16. Bidders must submit ₹30 million (~$360,540) as an earnest money deposit.</p>

The developer will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project for five years. The last date for submission of bids is October 25, 2023. Bids will be opened the next day. The project’s estimated value is ₹328.15 million (~$3.9 million).</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/rumsl-consultant-environmental-social-and-governance-strategy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Rewa Ultra Mega Solar invited bids to select a consultant for developing its environment, social, and governance strategy.</strong></a> The last date to submit the bids is October 23, 2023. Bids will be opened the following day. The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will fund the project. Bidders should have provided at least two task forces on climate-related financial disclosures and related advisory services for an organization in the last three years. They should have prepared at least three detailed carbon footprint assessment reports for a reputed organization in the last three years.</p>
<p><a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/powergrid-contract-evacuate-23-5-gw/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Power Grid Corporation of India emerged as the successful bidder for the execution of the two inter-state transmission system projects– Bhadla III Transmission and Ananthapuram Kurnool Transmission from PFC Consulting, </strong></a>to evacuate a total of 23.5 GW of renewable energy in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh. The Bhadla III is dedicated to establishing a transmission system to evacuate power from the renewable energy zone in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase-III Part B1. The Ananthapuram Kurnool Transmission project is focused on creating a transmission project for solar energy zones in Ananthapuram (2,500 MW) and Kurnool (1,000 MW) in Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/deploying-renewable-energy-indias-steel-industry" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A recent stakeholder meeting held by Minister of Steel Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach to deploying renewable energy to decarbonize the steel</a></strong> industry. Along with the use of renewable energy, the meeting organized by the Steel Ministry discussed pathways for the industry’s decarbonization through skill development and incentives. <p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/brookfield-bolsters-banks-renewables-acquisition/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Banks Group, a Durham headquartered infrastructure and energy firm, announced the acquisition of Banks Renewables, its renewable energy division, by global asset manager Brookfield.</strong></a> Banks Renewables currently manages a total renewable energy generation capacity of 223 MW. With planning permissions for an additional 200 MW and 347 MW in various planning stages, Banks Renewables said it continues its commitment to reducing CO2 emissions and expanding its renewable energy portfolio. In addition to operating ten onshore wind farms across Scotland and northern England with a combined capacity of 223 MW, Banks Renewables has secured planning permissions for 14 wind farms.</p>

<p>The total contract period is 2,065 days, which includes 240 days allocated for construction of the project, including testing and commissioning, followed by 1,825 days for comprehensive operation and maintenance of the project.</p>
<p>The tender&#8217;s estimated assessed bid value (EBV) is ₹32.696 (~$0.039)/kWh.</p>
<p>Bidders must have relevant experience in their name, encompassing the successful completion of similar projects over the past seven years, culminating in the month preceding the issuance of bid invitations on the procurement portal.</p>
<p>The requirements are either three similar completed projects, each with a minimum cost equivalent to 20% of the estimated tender amount, or two similar completed projects, each with a minimum cost equivalent to 25% of the estimated tender amount. Alternatively, one similar completed project with a minimum cost equivalent to 40% of the estimated tender amount.</p>
<p>Similar works refer to projects involving the design, supply, erection, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic grid-connected power projects with a minimum capacity of 1 MW under a single work order. These can be ground-mounted, rooftop, or floating solar power projects.</p>
<p>To qualify, the solar project with a minimum capacity of 1 MW must have been successfully operating for at least six months prior to the technical bid opening date. A performance certificate from the employer or the work order issuing authority confirming this operation for six months is required.</p>
<p>The bidders’ average annual financial turnover over the past three years, ending on March 31, 2023, should be at least 30% of the estimated tender cost.</p>

<p>The last date for the submission of bids is August 31, 2023. Bids will be opened on September 1.</p>
<p>The scope of the work includes the design, supply, erection, commissioning, and testing of the solar project, along with five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&amp;M).</p>
<p>The work is estimated to cost ₹ 62.9 million (~$760,717).</p>
<p>Bidders have to submit an earnest money deposit of ₹5 million (~$60,482). Bids will remain valid for 180 days.</p>
<p>The successful bidder must furnish a performance security deposit amounting to 5% of the contract value within 21 days of the Letter of Acceptance.</p>
<p>The project must ensure a minimum net electrical energy generation guarantee (NEEGG) of 17,354,400 kWh at the feeding point during the initial year following the project&#8217;s initiation.</p>
<p>Three locations have been identified for the installation and operation of the solar power plants, each with varying capacities: The Washery Site is designated for a capacity of 4 MW, the Parking Site for 3 MW, and the Damodar River Site is earmarked for 1.5 MW.</p>
<p>The power-feeding substation for the washery site includes a 33/6.6kV substation.</p>
<p>For the parking and washery sites, there are 33/6.6kV substations. At the Damodar River site, the power supply originates from the Kargali substation.</p>
<p>To be eligible, bidders must prove experience in similar projects within the preceding seven years from the bid invitation date.</p>
<p>This can be fulfilled by either three projects, each costing at least 20% of the estimated tender amount, two projects, each costing at least 25% of the estimated tender amount, or one project, costing at least 40% of the estimated tender amount.</p>
<p>Similar works refer to projects involving the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic grid-connected power projects with a minimum capacity of 1.7 MW.</p>
<p>The solar project must have been in operation for at least six months before the technical bid opening.</p>
<p>Bidders must have an average annual financial turnover of at least 30% of the estimated cost.</p>
<p>They must also demonstrate possession of working capital of a minimum of 20% of the annualized value or estimated value  of the project.</p>

<p>The last date to submit the bids is March 4, 2023. Bids will be opened on March 6.</p>
<p>Bidders will have to submit ₹595,000 (~$7,205) as an earnest money deposit. The successful will have to submit 5% of the contract value as a performance security deposit within 21 days of the issuance of the letter of award.</p>
<p>The project&#8217;s estimated cost is ₹47.58 million (~$576,170).</p>
<p>The project must be completed within six months.</p>
<p>To participate in the bidding process, bidders should have completed three similar works, each costing not less than 20% of the project&#8217;s estimated cost, or two similar works, each costing not less than 25% of the estimated cost of the project, or one similar work costing not less than 40% of the project&#8217;s estimated cost.</p>
<p>They should have commissioned a solar power project of capacity not less than 100 kW in a single work order. Such a project should have been in commercial operation for at least six months before the bid opening date.</p>
<p>Also, the average annual financial turnover of bidders during the last three financial years should be at least 30% of the project&#8217;s estimated cost.</p>
<p>Additionally, bidders must submit the certificate of possessing adequate working capital (at least 20% of the estimated value of the work), including access to lines of credit and availability of other financial resources to meet the project&#8217;s financial requirement.</p>
<p>Any bidder from a country that shares a land border with India will be eligible to bid in this tender only if the bidder is registered with the competent authority.</p>
<p>If the contractor fails to maintain the required progress to complete the work, liquidated damages at 0.5% of the contract price, subject to a maximum of 10% of the total value, will apply.</p>
<p>CMPDI has stated that solar modules to be used for the project must be warranted for peak output power, which should not be less than 90% at the end of ten years and not less than 80% at the end of 25 years.</p>

Coal India Invites Bids for 1.02 MW of Solar Projects in Jharkhand

<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/coal-india-epc-contractor-810-mw-solar-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coal India has issued a request for expression of interest from engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors for 810 MW of solar projects in Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s solar park in Bikaner, Rajasthan.</a></strong> The last day to submit the bids is February 13, 2023. The scope of work will encompass a complete turnkey EPC solution for the project, including the supply of solar modules and the balance of system. The supply of solar modules could, however, be excluded from the scope.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/coal-india-subsidiary-bids-4-mw-solar-jharkhand/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Central Mine Planning and Design Institute, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coal India, has invited bids for installing and commissioning a 4 MW grid-connected solar project for Central Coalfields in the Giridih area of Jharkhand.</a></strong> The successful bidder will also have to take care of the project’s operation and maintenance for five years. The last date to submit the bids is February 28, 2023. Bids will be opened on March 1.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/west-bengal-om-tender-10-mw-solar-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company has invited bids for a three-year operation and maintenance contract for an existing 10 MW solar power project at Santaldih in the Purulia district of West Bengal.</a></strong> The last date to submit the bids online is February 24, 2023. Bids will be opened on February 28. The project’s estimated cost is ₹11.69 million (~$142,679).</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/indian-oil-invites-4-5-mw-solar-in-tamil-nadu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Oil Corporation has invited bids for the comprehensive operation and maintenance of a 4.5 MW grid interactive ground-mounted solar power project at Narimanam, Tamil Nadu.</a> </strong>The last date for the submission of bids is February 4, 2023. Bids will be opened after four days on February 9. The project’s estimated cost, including GST for four years, is ₹36.3 million (~$444,458).</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/totalenergies-half-300-million-renewables-portfolio/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">France-based energy conglomerate TotalEnergies said it had sold 50% of a 234 MW portfolio of renewable projects to insurance group Crédit Agricole Assurances.</a></strong> The company said that the transaction implied an enterprise value of $300 million (100%) for the portfolio, which is equivalent to 16 times the EBITDA. The portfolio includes 29 solar and wind projects, of which 25 projects totaling 180 MW are already operational while four others of 54 MW capacity will be commissioned in the first half of 2023, TotalEnergies said.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/stanford-find-reason-failure-of-lithium-batteries/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Researchers from Stanford University and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory said they had solved the mystery behind the persistent problem of short-circuit and failure in new lithium metal batteries.</a> </strong>The team identified that the problem comes down to nanoscale defects and mechanical stress, especially during potent charging.</p>

<p>The last date to submit the bids is February 28, 2023. Bids will be opened on March 1.</p>
<p>The project&#8217;s estimated cost is ₹318.53 million (~$3.89 million).</p>
<p>The project must be completed within 240 days.</p>
<p>Bidders will have to furnish ₹3.98 million (~$48,577) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder must furnish an amount equivalent to 5% of the contract amount as a performance security deposit within 21 days from the date of issuance of the letter of award.</p>
<p>Bidders should have completed three similar works, each costing not less than 20% of the estimated project&#8217;s cost, or two similar projects, each costing not less than 25% of the project&#8217;s cost, or one similar project costing at least 40% of the project&#8217;s estimated cost in the last seven years.</p>
